Another bright and breezy start ahead of a warm, dry day.

Mo earg shattering plans here ... well, no plans at all, just a calm day of normality.

I can't hang around as we've decided to visit R, so we've got to leave and make and dash for the 9:30 bus.

No clue, it was on a bus in Edinburg S. I was going to the gardens there. to me iit was a Scottish accent. All I know is everyone was very nice in general and helpful. That is a lot of moving around @Victoria , can you share why?

 

I still retain my Ohio (mid-west) accent. Yes, within the USA there are accents from state to state, I love being with my Ohio relatives, so I hear myself. People do say they know my voice when I call them.

 

Morning all. Thursday. overcaste suppose to be on and off rain today. A heavy weather feel today, already 81. 9:32AM
One of my former client passed on, the service is at 2PM today. It will be nice seeing some former staff.
Husband awaits the go ahead to go pick up Sasha today, but with the rain, he's not too happy. Maybe tomorrow is better.

We have strong regional accents here too redstar, every county has it's very own 'twang'. I have to admit ,especially when on the phone to having some difficulties understanding the broader accents.

 

Had a good visit my brother this morning, so sad though as he couldn't recall us all being with him on Monday to celebrate his birthday. All his birthday cards had be put away somewhere so he couldn't even remember that it had been his birthday

Back home now and just having a belated chicken salad wrap for lunch.

Very close/ muggy today but dry with some sunhine.

 

I guess the reason I said that about the USA, is I often hear folks clumping the whole America in one pot when they say, OH, your from America. But, probably I would do that too with UK accents, as I know folks in Wales versus other places would be slightly different. And probably North Scottish versus South ect. Moving here from Ohio, the accents of some of the New Jersey folks are interesting, and the Amish folks have their own accents.

Not only Wales and Scotland....counties within England too have sometimes quite significant differences.....down to having their own unique words/ names for things even!!

 

I get that, in Ohio, they call the long sandwich filled with meat, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce a Submarine or a Sub. In PA they call the same thing a Hoggie. And then there is Soda Pop, or Pop versus Coke. I know there are more but that's all i recall now.

 

Hi. J spent his first 15 years in Cincinnati where all his family, on both sides have always lived. Some are quite wealthy. His parents then moved to Alabama where we met. We married in April 1969 and then moved to England in December 1977. We then moved to Portugal in 2001. I have lived in five countries, he three. I lived in Montreal and Toronto in Canada and New York (Long Island Queens), Connecticut, South Carolina and Alabama. Having been born in Wales, I don't think I have any particular accent.

Once again not really sure of our plans for today yet. We are suppose to have a mostly dry, albeit a tad cloudier , day today.

I really wouldn't mind if we had a day at home as there are a few things I have been meaning to do. However I know by mid morning we may well both get restless and end up going out...perhaps just a nice walk would do the trick.

We'll just takes things as they come.

Morning from another day of constant sun although we have a nice breeze ... but are going under another high temp warning from 11am through 10pm tomorrow.

J meeting up with John today. I had thought of joining them but now have decided not a good idea with a heat warning.

That is really neat. As I am reading was thinking of all the paperwork you needed to do all those times to "live" in other countries. Were the moves for work?, for your husband or your? So of all the places you have lived which one is your favorite?

 

Morning all. Been up since 6AM my time, it is 7Am now.
Working on our away tasks.
Sasha was picked up yesterday, she is locked/tied down in her trailer ready for the trip. Husband says she was buffed up and totally detailed, so I am expecting sparkle when she backs out at the show.
The funeral of my client was sweet, a nice grave side service, then later a early dinner at a very nice restaurant. Many former staff members were there it was nice to catch up. The clients family was there also, nice to see them again. My client lived a long life, so it was time for her to go. As far as the tails of my former job, seems they still retain my analogy of "Chickens with heads cut off".
Today, appointment with hairdresser for about 2 inches off. And of course more travel tasks.
