Hello all. Another Orange day heat waiting for us, into the mid/high 30s.

I will get my little bit of 'gardening' done 10ish as the air is nice then. I took cuttings of a Christmas Cactus yesterday as it was almost 30cm/12in long, put some back in its pot to fill it out and have more to pot today. also potted a new one, a hybrid called Twilight Tangerine which arrived from Spain yesterday. Also expecting a plug plant of Passiflora alata so if that arrives I will plant it.

J's ultrasound on his shoulder for today has been moved to the 23rd so he will meet John today for lunch. They are welcome to sit out in the heat ... but I know J will arrive home at 3ish and go straight to sleep for an hour or so, maybe two! J does not understand why I don't join then!

    Have a good one.

      Good day
It is 64f and full on sunshine! The guessers say it is going up to 81f. As long as it is not too humid, that is fine for me :)

I like dining outside but like you @Victoria not when it is stifling! Of those XBX I do not do the ones on my stomach, running or jumping and the arm circles. The one that seems to help my midriff is the one where you stand and almost mimic the teapot motion but with arms outstretched, not straight. I'm thinking because it is side to side, it really gives the muscles between rib cage and hips a good workout.

@Upsydaisy I too need to get the duster out. I could clearly write my name in the dust in one room. Oh well, if I don't get to it today, I'll write the date and then that will shame me into getting on with it!

I've got a load of laundry in the washer and will enjoy hanging it out to dry in this beautiful sunshine. And I'll probably do a little cooking on the barbecue. Oh, and maybe use the sun oven too!

I have not heard back from the supplier regarding replacing the unit I have and am a little disappointed. They are not a small company so I'm guessing with it being summer, they are just overwhelmed and slow to respond.

      Cheers :coffee:

I had to trigger the order for Amazon for stuff I need for the Airbnb so I can get the delivery in a few days. Thanks. And more shopping to be done to collect other stuff to take with. This time we are also renting a UHaul to take more larger items.
Still "stuff" to organize from recent trip etc. and ready for next trip on Aug. 19, when we drive to the Airbnb. About an 8 hour drive, get to see lots of cotton fields when we hit the southern states.

Anyway, awesome meet up with cousins. Enjoyed some nice restaurants. Got to see some interesting things in Louisville, KY. and then also couple days in Pittsburgh, PA. Will try to post some pics. later. Got home and found an artical in a Car mag, with pic about our car, nice.
Found this on YouTube about the car show, over 10,000 cars. Later. Sorry for quickness.

It is a hazy, sunny start to another HOT day under an Orange Warning.

Sad news this morning. I heard from Flumpy and her Mother died on Thursday, peacefully with all the family with her. I told her I would let you know.

I guess you will be busy with Son this weekend Upsy. Enjoy!

Nothing planned here in the heat.

Karen (@Flumpy ) so very sorry to hear of your Mum's passing, our love and condolences to you and all the family. Try to think as I do of my parents....she still with you, she's just gone into the room next door you can still speak to her as she can hear you all still. :grphg: xxxx

                Good day
It is 68f and a wet day is forecast.

@Flumpy I am sorry to hear of your Mother passing but at the same time, happy that it was peaceful and with you and your family there to comfort her. She is still with you if you look at your hands or your face and she probably gave you her favourite sayings and values which will stay with you for the rest of your life. I'll be thinking of you.

I have a mundane day ahead of me. Just some laundry, cleaning, baking and hopefully some vacuuming will get done too. These stupid time of use rates for electricity force us to try to squeeze our energy use into weekends and it is a bit annoying now that I don't work 9-5 !

Hey @Upsydaisy have fun with your son. I always enjoy visits with kids and grandkids.

                Cheers :coffee:

                  Morning all, Saturday, August 12.
Hope all of you with doctors appointments turned out well as can be expected. Sorry to hear about your mom passing @Flumpy . Lots of history is lost when an elder leaves us.

Will be spending most today outside, lots of garden stuff. Storms brought down lots of branches that need to go to the burn pile. Grass certainly grew while we were gone. Some potted plants need to be tossed. Some weeding to be done, just that grassy stuff. I'd say I have a jungle here.
Next week, will be busy, shopping for the Airbnb, taking Sasha in to the builder to fix something. Taking car in for oil change, general food shopping. More gardening. Cleaning house. Just keeping out of trouble.
Out next car show trip will be Sept. 5, driving to Kalamazoo, MI, then right away to Burlington, Vermont, then home. Have arranged to meet up with a cousin as we stay one night in Cleveland, Ohio, and then another lunch meet up with a friend in Buffalo, NY. And just found out I need to lock down a week in October so not to lose a week with our Time Share, rather be a driving destination, much easier than flying. So trying to find something of intererest in a few surrounding states. Would love to go fishing. My poor cat. but she seems to be surviving. Thank goodness for my good neighbors.
                  Have a good day all.

A nice fresh breeze here this morning and hazy sun with 18c. Only under a Yellow Heat Warning today so should only go to the low 30s. We got to 38.4 yesterday, our highest this year.

Just a quiet, pleasant Sunday for us and trust everyone has one too.

It is fresh here too. 62f and clear. A lovely change from the high humidity.

I've got my usual Corrie morning and lots of little chores to take care of.

                        Cheers :coffee:

Morning all, a lovely Sunday here, so enjoyable quiet and a lovely breeze on deck sipping my coffee.
I love watching the shaddow casting of the bigger winged birds flying over head. Butterflies on my phlox and hydrangea tree. Humming birds in the honeysuckle. Life is good.
                          Take care all.

Good morning everyone, I hope you all enjoyed a chilled out weekend like we did.

Our eldest is hoping to come down again in about 3 weeks time, we also can expect 2 visits next month from our youngest too.:yahoo:

This week's weather is looks very promising (after today) so I'm busy planning our next trip out for towards the end of the week. I'm also meeting up with a friend too at some point this week as well.

Today is bed linen changing, laundry duties (in readiness to hang out tomorrow ) and a general tidying.

This afternoon I want to water and feed some of the potted plants...while trying to dodge the showers.

                            Have an enjoyable day.:)

A lovely fresh morning here with 15c only going to the low 30s today with no high temp warnings so we can breathe easy.

I ordered myself a new outdoor chair and it is due today. Similar to what we have now but a rocker and head rest. I have been wanting a rocker for a long time. Had one before I met J. Let's hope the Couriers deliver as my last two deliveries have gone astray.
