That is so sad @Upsydaisy, I would find it very difficult to cope with something like that.
My mother had a short term memory loss after suffering a slight stroke after my dad died. We brought her to live here and it was difficult. It's good that you can visit him.

I went into Poundstretcher in our local town and they had a whole row of stuff for Hallowe'en on sale ... daft :frown:
I'm surprised they didn't have Christmas things too. I suppose they will soon :frown:

As usual went to my brothers for a morning cuppa - but this time it was different and a little comical.

I've mentioned before that I was bought some dumb bells. Well, I've been using them for some time now.

Anyway - we (myself and brother) ended up in the kitchen adopting various Arnold Schwarzenneger poses - trying to out do each other - can you imagine it? Two men in their 60's posing in the back kitchen .

We did have a good laugh - what a right pair of plonkers....

First day back at work today after a week off in London. Only took about 2 hours to make me wish I was back in London or anywhere else except work.

I am an I.C.T Engineer for the NHS and it is crazy busy at the moment. As I say, first day back and finished 1hr 45 minutes later than I should.... I don't mind but at least ease me back in slowly!

No rest for the wicked they say.

                Hello all

                I hope you are well.

Well, I am currently laid in a Hospital Bed, that is too short for me, after my First Cataract Surgery This Afternoon.

There are Four of us in this Mini Ward, Two of which are Snoring away

I do not think that I am going to get much Sleep Tonight, being a Light Sleeper

I am having to stay in Hospital overnight since I Live Alone and, due to my Autism, I had to have a General Anaesthetic.

I should be going Home sometime Tomorrow

Then I will need to instil Eye Drops for 4 Weeks, not something I am relishing the thought of

                Thanks

                Kevin

                  Hello @Drahcir

Thanks for the encouragement, it is appreciated.

Due to my Autism, instilling the Eye Drops is going to be, interesting

After a conversation with the Nurse, the best way for me to instil the Eye Drops has been decided.

                  Lay Down
                  Get the Bottle in position
                  Close Eyes
Instil Drop in corner of Eye
                  Blink a few Times

                  Sounds easy :wallbanging:

Also, all Three are now Snoring

It is like the Frogs Chorus in here :)

                  Kevin

I had a cataract removed last Friday....not at all pleasant as I am very very squeamish about eyes (can't even look when someone is putting contact lenses in) So I was sent home with drops...and an "automatic" dropper. This looks like an eye bath which you place over the eye and has the bottle of drops fitted into the other end. You then look towards a little pinhole in the device, squeeze the bottle to release a drop and count for 30 seconds. I am finding it surprisingly easy to administer, thank goodness.

We plan to start our walk from there next time when my knee ,hopefully, won't be so worn out.:fingers crossed:

Thank you Michael, as I've often said Winchester is a city I truly adore and I will never tire of it. We don't really go there for the shopping of day to day things as Southampton ,being much larger, has a far wider range of shops. Having said that it's full of smaller independent shops that are full of character and sell items that are a bit different from the run of the mill ones that you can find everywhere.
I just love feeling it's history, it seems to ooze from every brick and cobble stone. :imphrt:
