@pete how much did beer go up? A tall can of my son's favourite beer went from $2.30 to 2.80 in the past 12 months.

We are under a heatwave situation here and have to water the garden/plants daily. Our water bill for last month was 23 Euros which includes garbage collection.

Just looking at an item on screwfix that costs 80 quid, it states its made by Forge Steel, never heard of them.
They reply its their own brand but dont say where its made, China is my guess and nothing worth 80 quid ever came out of China.
They are not saying as yet, I've asked.

Parakeets are back after having been successfully chased off some time ago - can't remember whether it was last year or earlier this year. They are much too aggressive to the other birds and that isn't allowed here in Shineyland! :paladin:

I shall have to be vigilant. :th scifD36:

I've recently replaced all the metal fittings in our toilet, cabinet handles and toilet roll holder etc. All fitted about 4 years ago, cheap from B&Q. The 'chrome' was blistered and pitted so they must have been made of the worst stuff possible, spray painted Plaster of Paris would have lasted longer. I'm trying to only buy stuff made in the uk, difficult but not impossible and it's a similar price. Just not available in stores.

Problem is all the old fashioned ironmongery shops have gone.
We have one of those sell every thing and anything corner shops and it's often better quality than the big places.
Every time I go in there I try to catch him out and ask for something he doesn't stock,:biggrin: you literally cannot turn around in some parts of the shop.
Not cheap, but you only get what you pay for.

He was told by Churchill it would cost him £1,653.66 to insure his Range Rover Evoque, up from £925.90 last year, despite no changes in his circumstances.

After shopping around First Choice offered him a figure comparable to last year's premium. "If we had to pay an extra £700 on car insurance there was just no way I could have afforded a car."

Here's an idea. Drive a less expensive car - one that you can afford...

I've noticed if you put it into a clear glass jar it turns red.
