I've had a lot of House Martins visiting recently and in the past, but Swallows have turned up over the last couple of weeks too.

Nice bird! "Also works in reverse!". It does not seem to like the camera, I assume it can hear it.

What's the patch of mesh attached to the tree?

We put lard and those slabs of mixed fat and seed in the mesh, the Woodpeckers and Jays like them as do most of the woodland birds, we also put slices of bread or bread rolls in them as well.
The feeding station has niger seed, peanuts, sunflowers and mixed bird seed as well.

Amazing Osprey Cruise around Poole Harbour today, these two White Tailed Sea Eagles (from the Isle of Wight reintroduction project) were just 50 yards from the boat and ignored us completely. they are 4 years old and will be of breeding age next year.

One of our breeding pair of Ospreys is still here and she flew passed the boat with a fish.

Some of the 38 Spoonbills which have returned to the harbour for the Winter.

Our two resident crows are showing their age, I think. At the age of seventeen they appear to be developing grey feathers. :rolleyespink:

Buff tailed bumblebee queen has been walking around our lawn for some days. The Child thought it was in distress and gave some sugary water but the queen looks very perky and is hopefully just checking up nesting opportunities. :)

It accepted a snack on Echinops but then promptly climbed down and continued walking around.

It's a very interesting creature to follow. Best of luck with the new colony!
