Thank you for the warm welcome.
I am a beginner, and enjoy growing tomatoes at home. I am here to learn from you all and also share my experiences. I am still trying to get the hang of chatting and sharing photos. I’ve tried a couple and no responses, getting some now would be a good start for me( at least I know I’m doing something right)

I don’t have a large garden. I mostly use pots and I had a massive harvest last year.
This year is slightly different, I tried growing some on raised beds late in spring.
Now I have a tomato plant , I’m not sure what type of tomato it is as I have mixed them all up, but noticed a weird flowering. Do any tomato experts know what tomato this could be? Not sure I know how to upload my photos

      Welcome to the forum Didi

That is a megabloom when two or more flowers fuse together. It normally happens with beefsteak varieties. They usually end up as very misshapen fruit which some people like, personally I don't and would get rid but if they are the only flowers you have I'd leave it alone.

How come you don't know the variety ?

It's best to just start one thread at a time otherwise it gets very confusing when members start replying to sperate threads. I've removed your other two threads as it's essentially the same question.

This is the best forum (Edibles) to get an answer on tomatoes.

Thanks for replying, so sorry I didn’t realise the time.
I am not sure how it happened, possibly when transplanting, mixed up a few. Have different tomatoes ranging from Roma, money maker, baby plum, marmande and another- not sure what it is. I’ll be more organised next season.

Out of that list the megabloom is possibly Marmande which is a beefsteak.

No need to apologise I was just wondering, I often get lables mixed up or someone moves them around or I simply forget !

              Welcome @Didi :sign0016:To the forum.
I also grew Marmande one year on the balcony and on the allotment & in both places got a few flowers like yours. As it was a few years ago I don't remember very well if I removed them all or let them grow. I probably let them grow.
I'm only growing 1 variety on the balcony this year, Gardeners Delight. The plants have some toms but it will be a few weeks more before I get enough toms to make a salad with.

Good luck with your toms! :dbgrtmb:

Hi @Didi just a note about using the forum. When you click 'Reply' it quotes the other person's text and leaves a blank space for you to type in your response. If you don't type anything in and just press the 'Post reply' button it results in just the other person's text showing (as in your last post). Not a criticism just hoping this may help you :dbgrtmb:

I would add, until you get the hang of it all, just write your reply in box at the bottom and press post reply.

If you just want to acknowledge the previous person's post you can do that by using the row of 7 buttons at the base of the post.

I can't seem to view quotes by other people, and have to guess by what they're writing as to whether the reply is for me!
I presume it's something I'm not doing. Any ideas?

Can you see the quote of your post, directly above this message @fairygirl ?
