Are they getting different light levels, I find they often alter slightly if growing in sun or shade.
The top one looks like 'Schwarzkopf' that's been kept in a dark place. I'd go further than pete and say it's a totally different colour when not getting much sunlight.
I agree schwarzcopf, goes green when getting poor light, but there are so many different ones these days I think it's difficult to tell The first picture does look like the plant stopped growing and then started again.
Thanks but unlikely to be Schwartzkopf. Both are growing in the propagation glasshouses at National Botanic Garden Wales, which are very bright and airy, and they were both grown from wild collected seed labelled as percarneum. I suspect we'll have to wait for flowers and then key them out using a flora.
Just took these pictures, same plant in same pot, just catching the light differently. Top and bottom.
That can't be the same plant, variegation doesn't happen that starkly just because of light and some have pointed leaves and some flat ended. Wonderful plants, I'd kill for them so lock up well tonight @pete Schwarzkopf is always stunning but the Dahlia looking one is especially lovely.
It is the same plant, its just branched off and dropped down, but both on the same root. I'm not referring to the green ones or the black ones just the variegated one.
