Getting slightly suspicious about the deliveries I'm getting from a certain Supermarket I use, couple of weeks ago they sent me an e mail saying they had substituted a bottle of gin I had ordered,
Driver turns and just before leaving says, I suppose you know the gin was cancelled, to which I replied, it wasn't cancelled it was substituted, Oh, I'll have to have a look in the van, back he comes with the gin.

Yesterday I'd ordered 3x 10 cans of beer, special offer if you buy three, after the delivery I noticed he had only left 2, I checked and the receipt says 3, also they charged me for 8 carrier bags, I only got 7, so the other one was probably still on the van?????

Call me a suspicious Ba****d if you like, just wonder if the drivers are on the fiddle.
Of course it could all be totally innocent.:dunno::whistle:

They wont wait and anyway I cant remember every item, it not until I come to put it all away that start to realise what is there.

The receipt says there are no missing items, of course if one or two get lost on the way that could be different.
I've only just started to have this happen and it seems to be booze.

I 'phoned them to report a vehicle speeding up and down the road, with obviously false number plates.

The operative asked me what the number plates were.

I replied "They read 'BMW M4 Roadster'".

She said: "How do you know they aren't genuine? They could be personalised".

        GAH!

Can't be personalised as it too long, which tells me it a show plate which isn't legal for the road any way

Is it just me, Farmers are saying the soggy summer means that yields will be down this year.
Last year they said the dry summer meant yields will be down.

Has there ever been a year where the weather has been right, I know the apple orchards ( where I worked), used to say they didn't like good years as the price is always too low.,

I've got some sympathy for growers. I certainly wouldn't work my rrrs off growing melons ( for example) getting up at 5am to harvest before the heat kicks in, then getting 40 centimes per fruit for something the supermarkets sell for €2 each. Doesn't even cover the cost of growing them....

The quaity of wheat/barley will not be so good, as this year the standing crop went black in the wet bit of summer, in the late spring with the dry warm spell the berry didn't swell as much so will be lighter in weight (west side of country not sure about east side) so more feed wheat than milling wheat, i've seen worse, so i would say slight below average, but some parts of the country may have good crops

              Apples poor this year
Spuds well mine are better than last year

I can only say for the farmers around here, but they all seem to have really nice cars and houses.
Not that they shouldn't, but please no more sob stories please.
I think its just traditional to moan about the weather these days.

They've had an excellent crop round here in the east as we have had little rain.

I've mentioned before most of my uncles were farmers and so was my Dad. Cousins and their children run the farms now so maybe they moan more to me as they think I will sympathise. Then they show off their massive tractors and combines costing 100s of thousands. I don't envy them as it is very stressful being at the mercy of the weather. Plus the farm is their life they seldom take holidays.
