Never been able to read novels, just can never form a picture in my head as to what is going on, guess I just dont have enough imagination for it to work for me.

I read all the time, and usually have 2-3 books going. The one for leisure/bedtime, the one I want to read in small bits, and the one I walked past, picked up and got stuck with.

Then again, I don't watch telly (we don't have one) and don't enjoy films or indeed moving pictures of any kind. The layers of movement, speech and music is uncomfortable.

I guess it's just how our brains prefer to take things in. :noidea:

Nor me. When I was little I was sent to the library because 'they' thought I didn't read enough. I chose a book about cattle breeds. When I got home I was told "Why didn't you get a proper book". I threw the book aside and went back out the garden.

There was a time when if you didn't fit into certain pigeon holes you were side lined.
It's different now, but sometimes wonder if its gone too far the other way.

I never fitted into any boxes and never will. I don't know if it's possible to go too far the other way, I think people (and that includes children) should be allowed to follow their heart, otherwise it results in lots of problems for the individual concerned and also the ones who want them to fit into their pigeon holes. I know this from bitter experience.

Picked 2kg of chanterelles in about half an hour. Forgot my insect repellant so the midges were making me pick extra quick

Advice taken. :heehee: Never had that told to me in all my long life! :old:

Books, I'm an inveterate book reader and usually have half a dozen on the go at the same time - dotted around the house. Mrs Shiney reckons I must be the sole person that has kept the main library in town going! I used to take out twelve books at a time but now have reduced it to eight as lugging all of them across the town centre was getting a bit much. :phew:
