A chap at the local allotments (who's had plots for over 60 years) often comes up on an electric bicycle.

Me and bicycles don't mix well when there are pubs involved. Why, I remember when...

The WAG have described 20 mph as "a bit slower".

But Mark has said "Most journeys will be around one minute longer".

I don't have an issue with a journey taking longer (unavoidable with traffic levels anyway) but I do have great issue with the additional concentration of driving at 20mph. Impact damage might be reduced but I say likelihood of incident is vastly increased

He's an idiot. Around here there's such a lot of ribbon development, and one village joins on to the next one, and you can go about 5 or 6 miles in a 30 mph zone.
So when all that goes down to 20, it's going to take much more than one minute longer to travel to your destination.
And lots of the roads and straight and wide, with pavements on both, or at least one side, and many have feilds or very few houses along them, so 20 mph in such places is rediculous.

I don't think it will work. I understand in the places where there were trials there were so many protests that lots of the roads have been put back to 30.'

When you see "Mark" you can imagine him never reaching 20 mph anyway, he does appear to be a bit of a dodderer.

The signs for 20 mph have already been put on the road through this village but were not covered up at first, and everyone went at 20, forming long ques. Then when you reached the 50mph zone just down the road from here they all started overtaking eachother recklessly. Yes it's going to cause more accidents I think..

I've never liked him but an English friend of mine living in East Anglia thinks he's wonderful.
He's apparently standing down at the next election and good riddance is what I say. But we don't know who's going to replace him. I hope it's someone with a bit of sense.
He's even worse at maths than I am :heehee:

The only 20mph road near here is by a school, but you couldn't even get over 5mph because of parking on the Yellow "keep clear school" raod markings and kids runing out into the road, so just for the hell of it i started reporting them to the police :heehee: and bing go there not now parking on the yellow markings :yahoo:good things damp cams when someone runs out in front of you :pcthwack::pcthwack::paladin:
