@Upsydaisy --during one of the Christmas gatherings, when all siblings were there and their spouses, and his parents in good health at some point the mother did bring up what would people want from the house when the time arrived, I did mention I would want a certain item, and I did get that item years later. Then as husband was cleaning out stuff certain items came back to our home that I had given to them as gifts, that's ok, those items went down to the Airbnb for decorations. The house did sell, but with his father's cost of care most money went to paying for the nursing home bills. And any stuff sold at the auction also went to his father's bills. Did not hear of any annoyed siblings regarding the selling of the items.

      How cute is this....:imphrt:

      Good morning to everyone.

Well we're definitely not going to Salisbury with this weather forecast today. It was brighter earlier but has now gone suddenly dark.

Tomorrow we have strong winds threatening us in the afternoon so tomorrow's out too.
Might try a local visit to Southampton or Winchester on Thursday but not going far this week with such iffy forecasts.

Vicky how is the patient doing and of equal importance how are you feeling?
What is J like as a patient ?? R's not a good one at all...a typical male and usually has far worse symptoms that any other living person.......bless him.:sick0026::snooze: :help: ....love him to the moon and back though.:pathd:

Still haven't contacted my friends yet about next week...must try and get round to it today.

Oh well let's see what today has in store for us. Pottter, potter ,potter.:)

      Have an enjoyable day.

Here, I'll match you Upsy. Morning all.

How is the patient you ask? J would surely give R a run for his money. I forgot what he was like with a cold!!! When he worked he always had a cold Christmas/New Year and was immobile and on death's doorstep for 7-10 days! Apart from an occasional cough, gag or sneeze, he walks strangely, hunched up. and groans a lo!!!? It was not a good night ... for either of us! We sleep in the same bed, always have even through all operations. An annoying thing is his afternoon snooze (sometimes up to two hours, is always taken on one of the sofas in the lounge ... where I sit watching TV at that time. Yesterday was from 10am when he got till he "came to life" at 5pm. It will be ditto today.
Obviously he cancelled Physio for the week. As you say :imphrt::wub2:. Who knows, I may have it but as I have never had a cold in my adult life that I remember, I don't know what it is like! I felt nauseous last night but am fine today, clear head and all that.

Sorry your weather is up in the air ... a pun ... Upsy and that it is messing up your plans. It will be a warm one here again.

An odd thing ... I ordered two succulents over the weekend from Malta, freepost!, and got a refund for one with no reason, then this morning got notice both are shipped???

Well, I have whittered on enough so will love and leave you all here.

          Morning Vicky.

Oh dear you have my commiserations totally.

          Keep strong and battle on.;)

What is it with men......are they extra sensitive to all known symptoms!! :noidea:

Hmmmmm  maybe someone up high is rewarding you for all you are going to have to endure.....with a free plant.:blue thumb:

Yes our forecast is a tad annoying as it never gives a correct one!! It's still dark ( ish) and a bit gloomy but still no rain. We could've gone out after all but too late now as we would have a long wait in town for the next connection to Salisbury. It would be time to head back by the time we arrived!!

Oh well , not a lot going on here at present...we're both brain gaming in a bid to keep the little grey cells functioning as best they can.

Think we'll have Quiche ,potatoe wedges and a salad today, so that's all sorted.

A think a brew of Redbush is beckoning me now :coffee:

          Look after yourself xx

(a work of an artist in a nearby town- isn't it fun?)

            Good day
It is 59f and the guessers say it will be going up to around 65f and be sunny again. I have lots to do outside so that will be a bonus.

@Victoria perhaps you can dose J's tea with some estrogen. Help him suck it up! I have never figured out how us gals need to muscle through whatever ails us and carry on with cleaning and laundry and cooking, etc, even though we're the "weaker sex". Anywho, I hope he bucks up and gets over it. I think I've only had 2 colds in the last 40 years and even though they were nasty, I didn't lay about!

And talking about that, I'd better get in gear here. Get my Hilda facade going and get out there!

            Cheers :coffee:

Morning all, Tuesday,, and misty raining. Really have to do something outside if it ever stops, even for a moment.
Finally going back to Chess Club meeting today, have not been in a month and half. Will be nice to see all.
And, yep, men when they get sick really a treat, my only regret that I did not play up my periods more when I had the chance. Love his sentance---"you've never had a cold this bad". LOL
We do sleep in separate bedrooms, for now going on about 3 years, love it. That is one of the prices I pay when we travel, but I get two beds in the hotel room. When I reserve one of our Time Share resort places, I lock in a two full bedroom, two bath unit.
Well, apart from going to the Chess C. today, just going to putter about with stuff.
              Have a good day all.

I think one of the main issues I have dealt with is J has never done anything physical. He was not sporty in school and we married when he was 18. The ten years we lived in Alabama he worked in a Music and Home Entertainment Shop and the 23 years in England he worked in IT. We retired here when he was 52. He has never played sports (a bonus for me), liked DIY nor gardening and was never involved in household chores nor exercise. So I think has lived a very sedentary life and still does. Anyway, I think he has never built up any stamina which has led to a poor system all round.

Frozen Shepherd's Pie and peas tonight. I really want to get back into gardening and cooking fresh food again.

                  Good morning !!

Although yesterday's weather played games with us that resulted in us cancelling our plans it did provide us with a lovely afternoon in the garden.:)

Not too sure what we're doing today, as we originally had a weather warning for strong winds today ...but not any more , can we really trust our forecast...nope!!
We'll keep an eye on the sky and make up our own forecast I think.

You are very probably right about J's lack of stamina Vicky. How's he doing this morning?
Despite what he may think ...do you think he's having a rough time ?

Spoke with my friends yesterday and the IoW trip is still on for next week either Monday or Tuesday. We'll decide on Sunday after checking out the forecast here and there. Not too fussed really just don't want a choppy crossing. I can remember getting seasick on our 2nd crossing to France once...not fun at all.

On that cheery thought I'll take my leave...have a lovely day. :heehee:

Just my Boy lookalike saying Morning. A fine warm day ahead.

J is as J is with colds, occasional sniffing, sneezing, coughing, clearing throat and lots of sighs and groans and lying down all day, taking taking Ibuprofen and Paracetamol every two hours, alternately. I shouldn't complain as he still gets my cup of tea in the morning as I can't walk and carry crockery with a walker. During the day I get my water myself. His temp is 99.1 and 99.2, mine was 97.8 so both within normal range. He said he got up twice in the night. I got up twice. The night being between 11pm and 8am.

Nothing to report from here as such.

                      Love the pic!!!

Nothing to report here either....still don't know if we're doing anything, probably not.
The earlier blue skies have disappeared, fingers crossed not for long....but who knows.:noidea:

Depressing time of year is on the near horizon. Once the seasons change completely I'll be fine, just hate the leaf fall and decaying blooms.

Have a restful day if at all possible.;)xx

                        Good day
It is 59f and cloudy and the guessers say that it will only be going up another 4 or 5 degrees. And then we get the heat again :) We used to call the brief period of heat in the early fall an "Indian summer" but that has been frowned on so I guess it is now an "Indigenous Summer".

I can never understand erasing these names when they refer to something pleasant.

I survived getting a good bonking with a large branch from the apple tree in the neighbours at back of me. The wasp filled apples kept dropping down and bombing my garden and so I decided some of the branches had to go. This one was being a so and so which meant I pulled on it even harder and when it finally let go, it sling shot back at me. My jaw on the right side is a little swollen but there is no bruising to worry about covering up so I got off pretty lightly for such a walloping.

I don't have any set in stone plans today. Just a lazy to do list. I'm going to trace out a new pattern for cargo pants. I still haven't sewn up the last few patterns so I guess I'm setting things up for cold weather projects.

@Upsydaisy I sure hope you don't get motion sickness. That seems to stick with you for hours after. Totally a waste of time.

                        Cheers :coffee:

                          Morning all, Wednesday, 9:33Am

Wow, @CanadianLori , hope all is well after the apple tree limb, must have been startling.
Walking down to the mailbox yesterday, the trees swaying in the wind, I am thinking no more branches fall please till I get back inside.
Today, I think the rain has stopped, have to get out and pick up the down limbs and branches. too many, will have several wheel barrels full to the burn pile by the time I get done.
Went to my second hand store yesterday, bought some more platters for the airbnb, 50cents each, I keep them plain white platters, got 9 more. I seem to have a running stack of things to take with us when we head down there.
Chess game went well, we met up with another group from a different library, so I played with someone new, we called draw at the end.
@Upsydaisy , there is a pressure point at your wrist area for sea sickness, google for it. Guess its on a ferry you go. So keeping your eyes on land guess dose not help. Worst I ever had it was when I went deep sea fishing off the Virginia coast, we went out 50 miles before we achored down, no land in sight anywhere, but I think the smell of the boats gas fumes and the movement was the combination that got me. Managed to catch a few blue fish as I recall. Normally I just fish in the waters off of the keys, not too far out, and can still see land. Have not been fishing in a couple years.
                          Have a good day all.

Thank you for you kind thoughts but I only mentioned the bonking as a, "by the way". I've only got a fat lip and that is going down now as I type. And no pain so really nothing. I did learn a valuable lesson. If you weigh nearly 9 stone, you can muscle down just about anything

My Cereus Cacti is blooming. See my hand for the size. Only blooms at night, for only one night, has an awesome smell. And this morning saw a new little bud. Cereus 2.jpg cereus 1.jpg
