Grew some of these from seed, years ago, kept leaning to the left, flowers were a bit wishy washy and they were rather tender; never bothered again.

      20mph.

The vote of no confidence failed. Mark is steadfast - he won't change his mind despite the fact that the number of people who want to reverse the decision to move to 20mph now exceeds the number of people who voted Welsh Labour into power.

This is a gift to the Conservatives - just as Brexit was for the UK elections.

The parts of North Wales that voted most strongly for the Labour Welsh Government at the Senedd election in 2021 are the most rebellious on this issue.

Not sure that I would use the word 'rebellious'.

I'm not keeping up with the Welsh politics but if the First Minister has got the confidence of the house there must be a majority backing him, ie more people want the 20 limit than against.

I'm not sure what the vote of confidence was about specifically, unless it was just aimed at the 20mph it would have just been a political vote.

Its another case of those we vote for knowing what is good for us, even if we dont agree.

Should have had a referendum, you cant argue with them,......... or can you?

I agree with that pete, also complicated by those who don't vote, somewhere around 33%

But you can see why people dont vote, because that person is not going to represent you they are going to represent the party first and you second, that's if they ever bother to find out what their constituents are thinking.

I didn't expect the vote of no confidence to carry. It was just the tories wanting to score points.

However I do agree with the 20mph limit in certain areas such as town/village centres, housing estates and side streets i.e. places where there's a lot of people shops and traffic,
but where the road is just a wide through road in between villages, with traffic flowing unhindered and no people crossing back and fore, I do not think 20mph is appropriate, and there are several such places near here.

However, having said that, there are lots of roads that have been excempt anyway, and when I went to Carmarthen and Swansea on the buses recently there was no difference in their timing,
and when I go to a certain near-by village to do some shopping the time I take to get there is about the same now as what it was before ... because most of the 20mph stretches are in places you couldn't do much more anyway - i.e. town/village centres and narrow roads with people parking dangerously.

I think it's the long miles of inappropriate reduction that's the biggest issue and that's down to the councils. They can excempt any roads if they so wish, and it may come to that eventually.
Not many people are taking notice of the new limit on those roads anyway.

And why should you ? I don't keep up with it much myself, or any other politics. It's boring, although it shouldn't be because it concerns us all, but it is.

They won't do that, they know they'd loose.

                          Well done Rishi:

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is poised to set out a “plan for motorists” that will limit the number of 20mph speed restrictions.

Mr Sunak’s “Plan for Motorists” is anticipated to include restrictions on English councils’ ability to impose 20mph speed limits on main roads.

Speaking to ITV Wales during a round of media interviews on Thursday, Mr Sunak criticised Wales’ new 20mph policy introduced on September 17. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

Mr Sunak said: “I think imposing a blanket 20 mile-an-hour speed limit on areas is absolutely not right. It doesn’t reflect people’s priorities.” ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

“People are dependent on their cars for their day-to-day journeys and these kind of blanket bans aren’t the right proportionate approach.” ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

It wasn't for fun, it was planned and malicious. He didn't just stroll past of an evening with chainsaw over his shoulder and think 'oh yeah, this'd be a lark!'
