Does anyone have any suggestions as to who is the best broadband and landline provider ?
I am with Vodafone at the moment but they are hopeless and I want to change.

I have no mobile at the moment but maybe I will get one some day. It does not bother me though, but I do need my landline.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place. You can move it if you like - I don't care.

I dumped Talk Talk for BT, had no problems at all.
With BT I can use my Alexa at the top of my 70ft garden.

Thank you. I had TalkTalk once and would not go back to them.
I haven't got, and do not want, an alexa.

I also had Shell and Plusnet and would not go back to any of them. I want to try someone else but I don't know who.

We use Virgin Media, they get a lot of bad press but they have always provided a good service here. Our house has been connected by cable since the 80s and we have always had a great broadband performance. Sometimes it does go down but not as often as Sky or BT.

We've always had virgin media but only for broadband, have BT for the landline. For mobile we have EE which used to be orange.

Another one to avoid is Vodafone, a friend swapped to them recently as they offered a good deal but when he has technical issues they are useless.

That's why I want to leave Vodafone. I have been without my landline for over a week. They just don't care.
Someone is arranging a mobile for me but he's taking a long time.

We have BT and don't really have any problem with the landline. The internet sometimes drops out as we have lots of micro powercuts (about 2 seconds) and we have to wait for the router to reboot - but that is the power company and not BT. I've always found their helpline very good.

I have BT for landline and internet and the few problems I've had in seven years have been sorted out quickly. I'll be staying with them.

@Michael Hewett ,..most of the companies rent the line from BT,..here its Eir that has the lines rented out,..i tried all the companies we have here and you have most of those companies in England,..they all gave problems,..solved in some cases quickly others like Vodafone were hopeless,..in the end i managed to get a company who supplied wireless broadband at 54 euro per month,..broadband is VERY expensive here,..however i never have any breakdown since installed,..power failure doesn't cause any problems with this of course or break in the line,..it might be a good idea to look for a wireless connection firm in your case Michael.

We're going to have some problems when they eventually stop having landlines - was scheduled to be complete by 2025 but they are behind schedule. Landline numbers will still be usable but will run through your router. If router goes down or there is a power cut then you have no landline . If you don't have a router/internet at the moment your provider will supply a basic one.

If you don't have a mobile and there is a power cut then you have no communication. If you're in an area with no wifi/mobile service (there are still quite a few of those) then you are stuffed! :wallbanging:

                                Plusnet is part of BT

We've always had BT for broadband + land line, yes we have had problems with it all going wrong but that's because we are very rural and the lines are poor but most of the time the fixers have been good (the older guys go through it all, the younger one's will do a quick fix, that want we have found) since they came back to the UK things have got better with cusmter service
