I have recently moved to Ayr . The wet conditions are new to me as came from the south east . I have a very thin path edging border which is full of liverwort . I have removed most of it and turned the soil over and would like to plant something to fill it . Would the chameleon plant be ok or maybe some sort of sedum? I understand that drainage is the problem so will try and add grit or sand . Thanks for the add to the group . Hope to learn lots .

Hello and Welcome to Gardeners Corner.
A Chamelion plant likes moist soli and Sedum likes well draining soil and sunshine, so I don't think your border would suit both. Since there's a lot of Liver wort there I would think the soil is damp so you'd be better with Chamelion plant. It does tend to spread a lot though.

Liverworts are not something I see much of but I have a feeling they say something about the soil, as well as the dampness.
Its probably very heavy and possibly compacted, possibly acidic?

Thank you . Yes it’s very wet here and I have some chameleon plant out the front so I think I can prob take some and transplant it. Anything really to stop the liverwort building up .It’s time consuming to remove .
