Today I purchased a ps5 games console and a copy of the Hogwarts Legacy game. Cost £450. I am 59 next year.

Wonderful :) How do you like it @clanless ?

Some time ago I was chatting with a young intern in the smoking shed of our "prestigious company" and I revealed my plans to play Ahriman's Prophesy all over again. The intern was flabbergasted as he thought serious adult people don't play RPGs but rather while their spare time away browsing classic books or perhaps relax painting with water colours celebrating the ever changing subtle beauty of the nature.

I hope he was positively encouraged to find that old, professional hags can also spend hours of their lives hitting imaginary opponents and getting awfully giddy to find an upgrade armour in an imaginary chest

Games are great and can't be classified according to ages (apart from the obvious) in a way that grown ups should only focus on chess and the likes.

On a side note, Carcassonne Gatherers and Hunters is the best ever physical board game. Rules can be tweaked to one's liking and the game looks beautiful. Recommended :)

Got the ps5 today. Will set it up tomorrow. Hogwarts Legacy is a free roam rpg. Looking forward just to wamdering around Hogwarts and Hogsmeade. Did a fair bit of research on bytes per buck and settled on the ps5. Prime day was 130 quid off so snapped it up:blue thumb:

ooo... wouldn't mind wandering around a bit!

My Niece (8), has finally convinced my Dad (82) into reading the HP books and is lending them to him. Dad is still hesitant as he is sort of posh and prefers "proper" literature but I believe we have convinced (or attacked) him on all fronts starting from discussions with the aforementioned Niece up to an analysis of the narrative flow (super, e.g., Hermione stops and turns her head and the next chapter starts) and the reflections on the themes of the plots. French Resistance is so obvious in the later books but I don't want to spoil it for Dad

Dad is now at book 3, the best one in my opinion. :)

Took my car in today to get the summer air out of the tires, and replace it with winter air.

Saw The Great Escaper this afternoon. Loved it, although it brought tears to all our eyes at times.

Beautiful film based on a true story that occurred back in 2014. It was also Glenda Jackson's last film before her death in June. Sir Michael Caine's final film too as he announced his retirement a few days ago.

Finished the 3rd Thursday Murder Club book. Again nowhere near guessing the villain. Ordered some more murder mystery books, the Dedly End murder mysteries, 3 in all, author Victoria Walters. Never read any her books but they do look interesting. Time will tell.

Was thinking, for 55 years of working full-time over 40 hours a week out of the house I managed to keep the house clean, laundry, windows, etc. food on the table every night (me cooking) all errands done by me and the garden organize, me raking all leaves, cutting all grass, pulling weeds etc. So I am still in the same system. What do I do in the garden now with my extra time on my hands, I putter about, or go shopping, or read a book. Its strange indeed.

Lovely walk in the autumn sunshine to check the aftermath of storm Babet. We wanted to go into the woods to pick some rosehips but the small stream between the field and the forest we usually jump over had turned into a proper river. Out of bounds then. :noidea:

The golf course was empty of golfers but full of seagulls enjoying the new ponds and lakes.

Parakeets were basking in the sun and the little stream that later turns into river Ouse was magnificent. :)

It would have been Beryl's birthday today so I bought a bunch of flowers and put them in the house. I didn't put them on the grave, it's too far away and I can't get in the mood for going there ... and she isn't in the grave anyway, we only put a box of dust there, and B was more than a box of dust,
so they're in the house where I can see them.

I saw it last week and would recommend it, really very good.
Glad you got the op to fix the fracture as it sounds quite a nasty thing, hope the recovery goes well.

Tomorrow going for my 6 month dental checkup with my dishy dentist.
Nearly 5 weeks ago hubby had his other hip replaced, he's doing well apart from having a allergic reaction to the dressing, he's allergic to plasters and micro pore as well.

Glad to hear all is going well for your hubby @Logan :blue thumb:
I too react to certain dressings including micro pore . I was red raw ( and not from the surgery I had the week before )when I had the stitches removed 2 weeks ago...the wound has almost healed but I am still marked from the dressing. Apparently a lot of people do react to dressings, so I was informed by the nurse.
