I was into basketball for a couple of years, why it took me that long to work out I wasn't any good at it is a mystery, I liked athletics and I even liked gym which everyone else seemed to hate.
Everyone was forced to play games.

        They are board games:biggrin:
If I remember correctly the old PE lesson was suddenly termed as a games lesson.

I didn't like PE either, it was a waste of time.
The only thing I could do was climb a rope. I could go right to the top, but I found coming down difficult :heehee:

Anything is better than football apart from Golf, American Football and since when was Formula one a sport.
Interestingly enough as the amount of money involved goes up my interest goes down.

At school football in winter was compulsory until the 6 th form when you could do cross country. Summer it was athletics or cricket.

I thought the teachers didn't know I mitched on 'games' afternoons, but the school had a little paper magazine which was handed out every Wednesday afternoon, during the registration time after lunch.
                    (Wednesday was the 'games' day)

One Wednesday morning our form mistress handed me the magazine, and said "You'd better have this now, incase you disappear later on" :heehee:

You're certainly never too old to learn something new.

Thank you Michael as I had never come across the word ' mitched' until today!! :)xx

We used to say skived off or bunked off if someone missed a day at work, or sneeked out early. It was always 'mitched' from school, and you'd be told the 'truing man' would get you ... comes from the word truant I suppose ...
