Whats Looking Good In October

Normally you wait until they have been completely blackened by frost before lifting them. But if yours still haven't been killed back I'd wait until that happens.

Garden looks horrible now, all mushy and brown ... autumn is not a season I like.

 

Join the club Michael, Autumn has got to be the most depressing season of the year, and I hate it more every year.

 

Apart from the reduced daylight, I rather like autumn here. Gardening recommences, everything's watered, a lot of shrubs and perennials have a second 'spring' and we usually get some good leaf colour up until December

 

I've got a 'What ISN'T looking good in October' ... none of my Liriopes have flowered this year, they are just clumps of leaves. However they are a nice colour so maybe they are looking good after all ... could look better if they flowered though

Still lots of colour in the garden, pics taken this morning. So much I want to do but can't get in amongst the bloomers!! Excuse the lawn..it's too boggy to mow!!

 

Even delphinium @Upsydaisy ? That's unusual!

 

Is it?? I always cut them back after their first bloom and then get a 2nd lot early Autumn.

Thanks @Michael Hewett but I always cut mine back anyway. I think it's that mine only just cope with the slug population so an extra flower is too much
