Spotted my first Yellow wagtail, I think that is what they are, of the winter today.
They often come around my pond in the winter months but never see them in the summer.

 

That is the Grey Wagtail @pete they have a lot of yellow below and are resident, they can be confused with the Yellow Wagtail but they are Summer visitors only and will be in or on their way to Africa now.

Lots of geese flying over at the moment off to other climes.

 

I used to see a lot of wagtails at the farm, I think they might have been pied wagtails.

 

Has any one got lots of birds in there gardens? this year we don't have the amount we used to have, so far i can count them on one hand i'm hoping they are else where and will come in later but even with the cooler nights they're not coming in, if they're not about then this year is a very big drop in numbers

 

Did anyone hear about the U.S. renaming 80 bird species because their name includes the name of an individual who may have had poor standards according to current woke definitions?

I'm going to assume they would only be birds native to that country?

 

Yes Jiffy, particularly the tits and finches - right through this year. They're emptying the feeders within a couple of hours.
