    Hi Vicky.

It's a tad nippy here too, but the gorgeous sunshine makes up for it, just hoping our forecast is correct today.:fingers crossed:

We've decided to go as it would feel like a wasted day if not. The trip should provide us with some stunning Autumnal colours as it takes us on the more rural routes, lots of cute villages and pass farms and forests...really looking forward just sitting back and seeing all the beauty that we are so fortunate to be surrounded by.

Our bus leaves in 30 mins so must get a wiggle on. Have a super day yourselves.xx

Good morning all, Tuesday here, Voting day. Off to vote soon and then errands.

@Victoria --we just have the normal bills also. But with the Airbnb that is extra stuff to deal with. Our home is paid off, and all cars payed off.

Did lots of leaves yesterday, more dropping. So maybe Thursday back at it again.

@Upsydaisy we saw some awesome autumn shots when up in the Poconos . In many sections when looking at the waterfalls there were dense /thick amounts of Rhodo with lots of buds. I am hoping to get back there again end of July to see all in bloom.

      Take care all.

Good morning everyone and a very wet one here too!!
I think it's set to stay rainy and breezy all day today, so I don't think many plans will be made.. just a lazy chill out day .

We had a super day yesterday and the weather was perfect.

The farmer's market is really picking up the pace now with lots of yummy ideas for Christmas. One stall holder was very persuasive at getting people to sample their local cheeses.....oh gosh they were so delicious !!!

We walked around the Cathedral and the river after lunch....hopefully walking off some of the cheeses too!

We stopped of in Southampton on the way back as we had a couple of errands to see to. We didn't get home until 6:40 and by then it was pitch black walking down our lane. Fortunately we could just make out the flooded areas, although some water did seep through my canvas topped trainers.....so hate getting soggy feet and shoes. It was a long but enjoyable day, we were out for about 9.5 hours. So a rest up today will be quite nice.

        Have a good day.

Gosh, I slept late! I last remember looking at the clock at 3,30am!

Sounds and looks like you had a lovely day Upsy. Where did you go that you 'stopped off' in Southampton? Mmmm, cheese. I don't like very sharp cheese and there are some Portuguese ones that make you pucker!

J dropping his car off today for something or other then going to the Chemist to get what the Dentist said.

Don't get too bored Upsy and everyone else ....

            Morning Vicky,

I wish occasionally I could sleep late but my body only seems to need 4 -5 hours... my head begs to differ !!
As I said in yesterday 's post we went to Salisbury, that's the Cathedral in the 1st pic.:)

Still very breezy and wet...very wet!

No I won't get bored might make a start on the Spring...well Ok Autumn cleaning of the kitchen. Too much to do in Spring to contemplate doing it then.:heehee: My seedlings need me more.:hapflower:

What are you up to today?

            Enjoy xx

Not a lot. Finished my cycling, just going through some things on the computer, then do the dishes, then outside to sit in the sun and tend to my Nursery. Will do a bit of crochet on the afghan this afternoon. I must get some e-mails done. ;)

Did you see APITS yesterday, Central Algarve? The nearest to us was Ferreirias, 15 minutes. I knew they wouldn't buy.

Morning all, almost 9AM here. Up early again, 5:30 Am. this time change is nuts. Combined with vacation dragging/tired, not my bed and intense leaf removal on Monday, more to do today if I feel like it. I have to do at least 3 hours of some sort of leaf removal, front or back of house. Where I removed 3/4 of the front on Monday more have fallen. Trees not all done letting loose, sometime when sitting on the deck there is just "raining" leaves. And have not started raking out the beds---that I do in February.
Husband going to an event today of car designers to see the different aspects of design and what new stuff is out there. He does have an idea for the "next" car. Hour drive there for him. Will enjoy the alone time.
                Have a grand day all.

Morning redstsar, does your hubby ever help out in the garden?

Our trees are still holding on to their leaves too despite all our recent strong winds. I have been trying to keep on top of all the fallen ones but we've had so much heavy rain making them way too soggy to bag up for making next years leaf mould, once they dry a bit I will continue sorting leaves and ' nuts' out as I only bag the leaves.
So indoor Autumn spring cleaning it is for now.

Yes Vicky I did see APITS, have to say I wasn't particularly keen on any of them, especially their accompanying outside spaces. Mind you they gave Ben a task and a half trying to find somewhere to suit all 3 generations.

Here's that famous poem by John Keats, whose footsteps we walked in as we relived the pleasure he got from his daily walks in and around lovely Winchester. It was these walks that inspired him to write this poem.

                    Good morning everyone,

Fingers crossed that today is looking to be slightly less grey and wet, only problem is that the garden is too wet to work on at the moment.
So it will probably be another day of kitchen cleaning . I'm pacing myself by just doing a specific task each day.:dbgrtmb: If I did it all in one day then I wouldn't have anything left to do on a wet day.....and we certainly have a lot more on the way over the next couple of months .....guaranteed. :blue thumb:

I also made a start on this year's little Xmas decorations for our great nephews, so will more than likely do a bit more on them too.

Apart from that it'll be a case of see what the the day had in store for us.:)

I hope that your day has nice things in store for you.

                    Enjoy.

Morning all, Thursday, almost 9:30AM, stayed in bed longer, thank goodness. Up at 6:30Am.

@Upsydaisy --your question to me--does husband help out in the garden? He developed the back bottom area, and keeps those beds mulched, and that grass down there cut. I don't like how he arranged the beds as you can't use the ridding mower and just go in between, but have to use the push mower. So I told him that area is all his. So I take care of the immediate back yard area, the two flanking beds, and the bed by the house, and the front yard and the beds in the front, And cut all the grass, remove all the leaves, pot up all the pretty flowers in the spring etc. Prune the shrubs and ornamental trees. Total property is almost 3 acres, so I 'd say I take care of 2 acres of it. Oh, and I take care of the garden bed slope that descends down to the back bottom area. And why I am not skinny is beyond me.

Today, off to some errands, and some stuff about the house inside. Did a lot of leaf removal yesterday, but more leaves are still falling. Oh, well. Gearing up to leave on Tuesday, Suv is packed with stuff to take to the Airbnb. Hope there is room for the suite cases and bag of food and cooler. Hate food shopping down there if we have stuff already bought we can take.
                        Take care all.

Hello there everybody...gosh I can't believe it's Friday already!!! :yikes:

It brighten up yesterday afternoon so we caught a bus to a couple of large stores on the edge of our local town and picked up some odd bits of shopping. That was about all we did do yesterday

I really do need to dig up the remaining few Fuchsias and pot them up for Winter storage and move the ones already in big pots to undercover as our nightime temp is beginning to tumble ,our low tonight is down to 1C I think. So that's a definite job that must get done today come rain or shine.

I hope you all have an enjoyable day whatever your weather.

It is a grey start to the day but 14c going to 20c and the sun will show itself soon.

Not a lot going on here except J meeting John for their Friday meet up. I will go out and soak up a bit of Vit D after my cycle.

Trust everyone has a grand day,

Checked with the weather in New Bern and Georgia, same temp. Made a quick pedicure appointment for today as I will take at least one pair of sandals with me, so my toes need to look decent.
Stopped by my favorite Cheese Man and picked up some cheeses for Thanksgiving snacks to take with to Georgia. Have to get some crackers and wine.

Stopped in my favorite "restore" place, picked up some non-religious type little holiday decorations I can leave here and there at the Airbnb . Guests are scheduled to arrive for 10 days during Thanksgiving, so something little festive something something.

Brother-in-law returned from about 3 months in Poland, he is stopping in today to go with husband to an auction.
Anyway, will do some inside the house stuff today. Filing, sorting ect.

Well that's it for me. Hope all is well with all.

                                Good day
It is 39f and lots of sun is poking through the clouds. This is also going to be the warmest it gets today. Luckily tomorrow, Remembrance Day here, will have no precipitation and I may get the opportunity to see a Lancaster flyover.

I see everyone has been staying busy and well which is wonderful.:blue thumb: I am not enjoying being part of the petri dish called "secondary public school". I've been down with the flu and Em is in bed recovering too. It's a large school with three campuses so germs have lots of places to circulate. No amount of handwashing at our end can totally wipe out the constant assault! I had thought, even though not feeling well, that I'd made sure to keep up my diet but somehow I've lost more weight :rolleyespink:

The only thing left to do outside here is leaf raking. We are not allowed to burn ours so I will be shredding them and adding some to the gardens.

                                Cheers all :coffee:
