It is up to 38f and looks like it will be a fairly sunny day.

Em looked a little sluggish going to school today. I told her if she wanted, she could stay home instead and she and I could have a toilet cleaning party! Somehow that didn't appeal to her so she carried on to school with some antihistamines in her back pack to help her through her day.

I've got another list of things to get done today so I shall get on with it.

On the whole yesterday's weather wasn't that bad in to the end, just very breezy but mild.. The laundry was flapping about wildly on the line and was dried within a couple of hours.

Finally got round to booking our first set of train tickets to go and spend the weekend with our youngest before he escapes our Winter. He's off to South America to visit the last remaining countries he's yet to explore. He'll be away for 9 weeks I think.

Phoned a friend to plan our next cinema visit. .

Still pacing myself with the kitchen Autumn Spring cleaning and did another cupboard.


Today is looking a bit mixed put there with a weather warning in place for thunder storms.

Had a good sleep again ... but it is early start day so must wake up (after tea and a biscuit) and get my tail feathers going.

It is J's last physio, hurray! He see the Physio Doctor in December to assess.

I is a beautiful day going to 24c. Seems like we will be like this all week before we drop slightly.

I am glad to hear that everyone is in good shape.

I've got to start buying butter for my Christmas baking and today is the last day on special offer at one of my local shops so I shall pop over there this morning and while I'm there, pick up a sympathy card. I received news that a fellow I know has passed and although he and his wife were more "acquaintances" than friends, I feel it is the right thing to do. Acknowledge his passing and offer sympathy. I really don't like this type of situation because even though she is an okay person, he was a total sssss and in a way, it makes me feel two faced

I also have a little hand sewing left to do on those cargo pants which will be nice to sit and do while watching an old John Nettles Midsomer Murders episode.

Good morning.

Another day of probably not achieving much although the weather looks promising.
Still feeling a bit off so I think we'll visit my brother ( nothing contagious) and then do a bit of shopping . I would rather do all this today in the hope that by Friday ( our next good day weatherwise) I'll be feeling better and more able to have a day of gardening

That's the plan whether it actually gets done is another matter.

We're having internet issues at the moment with incredibly low speeds and it's really annoying so I'm trying to avoid using it.

Oh, what a night! Van has Autumn Fever or something. We sat out from 4.30 to 6pm and both were playing around us. They had their dinner and Van went straight back out. He didn't come home till just before 5am 11 hours disappeared!!! J went out several times calling but to no avail. Of course I couldn't go to sleep due to fretting. He went about the house shouting at 6am! At 8am J found him under the sofabed and we checked him out but all looks okay. We figure about two hours sleep total, if that. So we are both

We too are having on and off Internet. It is so frustrating.

Upsy, Sorry to hear you are feeling unwell and I think you are brave visiting your Brother due to the bus journies and all the waiting ... you take care. xx

Take it easy today and recharge your batteries.

Hmmm yes the bus trips are a tad concerning as we need to go on into Southampton afterwards. Keeping the fluid intake down this morning to see if that helps.

I'm sorry to hear you aren't 100% @Upsydaisy and I hope the adjusted liquids help. @Victoria cats sure can worry one. And why I don't know. I used to worry when one of mine went awol even though I do know that they can run faster than I ever could and therefore are safer than me!

I had a giggle this morning. Next door neighbour, George, was standing on his front porch getting some fresh air - in short sleeves and bare legs. So I whistled at him. We both had a laugh!

As usual, I have lots to get done today.

I hope Van is behaving tonight @Victoria ! It's so worrying when cats wander. I've been awake almost all night many times in the past and been going down the garden with a torch, looking and calling.
I remember looking for one cat at 2 a.m. and suddenly found her peering down at me from the garage roof, and looking as if she was saying "what are you doing down here at this hour"

Vicky your Crochet blanket is beautiful, I couldn't acknowledge it on the thread at the time due to poor connection issues.

Undoubtedly your great work is very much admired and appreciated and helps to support many Cats/ kittens who unfortunately may not have had a good start to their lives. Well done.


Had a good morning yesterday with my brother who seemed in fine spirits. We went on into Southampton for lunch before doing very small amount of grocery shopping.

Walking back we came down from the top section of our lane and hadn't realised just how flooded out it had got!!

Today will just add to all the issues up there as our forecast is not good at all.

A day for indoor tasks is on our agenda today I think.

Thank you Michael, Van was well behaved last evening, We sat out till 6pm, Van came to us without calling and Munch was surprisingly up in the Tree House looking down at us all. She came down and we all came in. J gave them their diner and promptly shut the door which blocks access to the screen door which has the catflap. Van shouted a few times then disappeared to the bedroom. He came back later and lay quietly on J's lap. We went to the bedrppm at 9pm as usual (I like to stretch my legs and we watch a few programmes (Boston Legal for one) and Van lay across my hip and Munchkin on J's chest. It was a quiet, peaceful evening and I slept like a log.

Pleased all went well yesterday Upsy and sorry you have rain again. Thank you re the afghan. Shame I have nowhere for it ... it would have gone perfectly in my Biucks guest room which was those colours. I have started on an infinity scarf.

I'm glad your pussies behaved last night @Victoria . @Upsydaisy it sounds like you're getting thoroughly soaked! The guessers say we'll get some much needed rain tomorrow.

Em will be down here any moment for breakfast. I've got a chicken Caesar salad, buttered roll, butterscotch pudding and navel orange all packed in her lunch. We're experimenting with new containers to try to add variety to her lunch.

Best get the eggs going here.
