        My mum also had quite a bendy thumb - not sure if as much. Mine are pretty straight!

              That was three days ago. We had frost last night and strong winds today and the tree is now bald!

              It's an Acer palmatum 'katsura'. Supposedly has a maximum height of 2.5- 4 metres but ours grows taller in full sun. The one in shade keeps smaller and less spectacular in colour.
