Here are some pictures I took today. I was surprised to see that the bud has some colour in it! It's not easy to see from below & the Macro shot shows the colour up very nicely! (though I think it maybe a bit exaggerated by the macro lens on the phone & from being so close up, I don't see so much colour in it from my lowly vantage point! :heehee:

It took me two looks to figure out that the blossoms are part of the plant and not part of the tablecloth embroidery. :heehee:

What an intriguing plant, insectivores with pretty flowers are unusual. Do you grow it as year-around houseplant @strongylodon ?

This is lovely, the foliage looks thriving and the flowers are unusual. Very beautiful :)

@Selleri I have had it for about 4 months and it is regarded as a house plant as it is not the native Butterwort. Strangely it was in a tray of insectivorous plants at our local Spar, they have odd trays of plants now and then. It does catch the small fruit flies that often comes with some composts.

Perhaps we could use a Butterwort or Venus Fly Trap or even a Sundew plant to get rid of the pesky compost flies! We have always had a few but never had we had 100s like this year! It must be down to the new peat free compost I've been using this year! They seem attracted to the light from our computer screens as I'm constantly bothered by them while sitting here at my computer!

I always sit in my conservatory and mostly have my lap top on, I'm surrounded by plants in pots and containers and I never see fungus gnats.:dunno:

On the subject of Plectranthus this I believe is "mona lavender" although the flowers dont appear as dark as in most of the pictures on the net, possibly because the light levels are poor at this time of year.

The flowers on my P. ciliatus are very pale this year, (photo above) but they are usually quite mauve. However they are mauve when it flowers outside. It's indoors this year so not so much light.
