Thank you Upsy and Logan. It is a sofa afghan/blanket ... and I am wearing it on my lap. Edit: It is the same shape and pattern as the lemon one above, maybe a bit bigger.
My sister is very good at it , I have attempted it many times...I can do squares...but anything bigger, well I just prefer to knit.. Baby clothes...well maybe, but then I'll need a baby. Especially now that all our local charity shops are asking for no more donations as they been inundated with gifts of late.
I finished the Pink/grey/White Afghan ... the light is dim in the lounge so the coloue looks different ...
Thank you Logan. I really like these gradient yarns. I give all to a Cat Charity in Albufeira who look after colonies (about 300 individuals) who they feed, spay and otherwise take care of medical issues.
Oh, the cats don't get them. They sell them in the store to raise money for the feed and medical bills. We also give a cash donation every Christmas when we take the crochet items.
@Logan ... and anyone interested. This is the Cat Charity we support... Amigos dos Gatos do Algarve - AGA The Cat Colonies live on the beaches/sand dunes in and around Albufeira. They do re-home non-feral cats. Recently they had three blind kittens, a 5 year old Siamese house cat and these cuties ... So you can see why the afghans etc I make and donate are not for the cats directly.
I apologise if I offend anyone, but I am 150% against cats being allowed to run free. They are first and foremost, predators. Most cats, even if fed, can't resist the urge to hunt. At least they neuter them.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Do you think they should be euthanised? My own cats are allowed to run free in the orchards around us from 8am to 8pm. I have had my current cats, a girl aged 14 and a boy aged 11. They rarely bring us 'gifts' ... perhaps once a year and that will be a gecko who is captured and let loose. They prefer the food we give them, even people food. Have a good day.
No, Victoria. I don't think they should be euthanised, and didn't infer that. I have nothing against cats, per se, as long as they are confined to the house or garden, the same as dogs. You say that yours bring you 'gifts' but I wonder how many other critters have they toyed with? Keep smiling.
Lots of animals are predators. They are the way nature intended them to be. That includes cats. You can't change it or disagree with it, or say that they should be confined to their homes. It's just how nature is.
