Fortnight ago I was prescribed a new medication at a hospital clinic and given a months supply. Last week I asked my GP practice to add to my regular prescription. Today my GP told me they were not supposed to do this until they received a letter from the hospital, currently the local hospital takes between 1 and 3 months to process these letters; mid October I got a letter summarising my cardiology appointment that was in mid July.

Christmas decorations are currently appearing like a rash round here, they could at least wait until the schools break up.

Sounds about right. I know of so many errors made, not only in my own care, but that of others it is downright frightening

I would ring the hospital clinic that supplied the medicine @NigelJ and ask them to sort it out for you, or give you a further supply.

Just to show the difference, I saw the surgeon about my last knee op about 10 days ago and received a copy of the letter, sent to my GP, one week later, the NHS seems to have millions of people working for it, but I often wonder what half of them do.:dunno:

Should add, it reminds me of British Leyland and a few other nationalised companies I could mention from the past.

I dont put the NHS in quite the same category, but the principle is the same, top heavy and full of incompetent management.

I know the world is in a bad way at the moment, but why the sudden rush for the exit? Woke up to hear that Henry Kissinger had died, lunchtime Shane MacGowan departed and just heard that Alistair Darling has cashed in his shares. Who else before bedtime?

Been doing a bit of reading online

One of our police office is in court for driving a police car while he was disqualified from driving after getting 12 pionts for speeding :nonofinger:
I though you would have to have a clean license to be a police office

Apparently a clean licence is pretty rare these days due to the amount of speed traps, if people lost their jobs due to having points on their licence the whole country would be on the dole.

My licence is clean but only because I went on one of those courses three years ago, before that I got done for speeding in the late 70s.
Up until now that is it for me, but they seem to be installing more average speed cameras around here now, so eyes firmly fixed on the speedo and forget what's happening on the road ahead that's not so important.:frown:

Wouldn't be so bad if they sorted out the foreign lorry drivers who "push" you along in 50mph road works on motorways.
They seem to totally ignore any speed limits.

I will be honest, I have deserved plenty of speeding tickets over the years, especially when I was younger - I was that guy who had zero fear and was the one that would drive mates cars home with no clutch, or carb problems etc and also the one that would take any car by the scruff of it's neck down a country road. But, I have never had a speeding ticket, nor even a parking ticket.... yet.

There is an explosion of cameras and many of the ones being installed now are multi-functional (eg the ULEZ cameras are capable of CCTV video, and speed detection, if configured) - you'd have to be blind to not notice that there is mass preparations going on to either punish us off the road or to control our every move.
