Thank you Upsy and Logan. J went and got a couple of small logs just after the pic was taken and put them straight onto the fire.

It is funny, the previous pic is of Van sunning on the rocks, which he has been doing every afternoon ... and here is Munchkin toasting by the fire! :cat-kittyandsmiley:

Thinking of getting a puppy next year, there was a litter ready for around Christmas but i don't like having one on Christmas day because I'll be busy cooking the turkey dinner, but this is what they would look like.
Price is £2.250.0 which is about the same price as Berry cost 9 years ago.
We were thinking of getting one before the pandemic but hubby wasn't very good with his legs/hips but now that's sorted we can think of getting one.

How cute! My goodness ... what a price! I always take homeless babes ... but I know you like that breed.

I thought your turkeys were already cooked. I know the mince pies are ... because I have a dozen! Can't hubby look after him whilst you are busy in the kitchen?

Thanks Victoria, I've thought of getting a rescue Goldie but they require a home without other dogs.
No the Christmas turkey i cook on the day. If we didn't have barley and Berry i might consider it. It's up to me to house train them most of the time, but it just wouldn't be right at this time.
Anyway they're probably all gone now, usually they have a waiting list.

Yes @lolimac he or she is a beauty. I think that you should get one for Montague, he'd love one and so will you.
In 1999 we went to this breader but we decided to have one from another one. Turned out that he developed hipdisplacia at 6 months, he went on to be 12 years old with no trouble from it.

Yes we pay about £60 a month each for Barley and Berry. But it's worth it in the long run as long as it's a life policy.

One of my sisters GSDs had a stomach twist on Sunday evening, GDV, it was an emergency and they ended up driving about 13 miles rapidly to get him to the vet.
X rays and emergency operation overnight followed, with a day+ stay at the vets then a return next day to check everything is ok, still a few more visits to come I'm sure.

Its going to cost thousands, but he's insured.

That's good to know that you're sisters dog is insured and that he'll be fine in the end.

When Barley was about 4 months old he had trouble with his elbows, he had x-ray and scan and a operation to trim the cartilage in them. We used up all of the money that we could claim in a year. But he's still covered if he has any problems with them because he's on a life policy.
