My electric hob gave up the ghost yesterday and it's a fortnight before my new one arrives. So good people a question for you. Is it possible to cook spaghetti or rice in the oven or microwave without it boiling over please? The spaghetti is gluten free and tends to froth up more than the normal type.
Thanks Drahcir. No, I don't want to boil it to bits, but surely I need to bring it up to boiling point before putting the spaghetti in to simmer?
I opted for the microwave to cook the spaghetti. It was edible but a little overcooked, so if my new hob doesn't arrive when expected I'll try the oven next time. Surprisingly it took just as long to cook in the microwave as it does in a pan.
Needs soaking overnight before boiling for three hours, sticks wallpaper like a dream. But I guess the gluten free stuff might not be as good.
