Doesn't work quite so well with a wet underfloor/geothermal heat pump system :roflol: The options are boiling, grilling or roasting in the oven and none of them work for getting rid of the blasted interior skin!

        Moan: Outrageous.

        Send it to Trading Standards.

Sending to Trading Standards doesn't get you anything but a little bit of satisfaction. Starting off by sending the photos to customer relations at Morrisons is likely to get you some monetary vouchers :blue thumb:

We always put them in the hot ashes under the coal fire.

If you do as @Sheal said and cut a cross in top and bottom and put them in the oven than the inner skin should peel off OK.

Good excuse to use the barbeque.

How do chestnut sellers roast them these days, I'm sure there must be environmental constraints put on emissions from a smoky brasier polluting the atmosphere.:heehee:

We have one of these, on a gas hob they never have a problem with the inner skin

I've got one of those too! Somewhere.... It's beginning to look as though the secret lies in this cross-cutting business. OH's feeble stab with the point of a knife obviously isn't good enough :nonofinger: Another example of 'If you want something doing properly etc etc'. But where does it all end? :gaah:

I've had my start/stop engine-d car for nearly three years. This week, in cold frosty weather, I discovered you can't start the engine to warm the car through inside before making a journey. The engine stops running. :frown:

They usually have an override switch on the dash to disable the stop/start function. What's the make/model?
