That's great news, take it easy for a while don't overdo it and be careful in the bath, although you've probably had it by now.

A friend and I went to see Napoleon this afternoon.

I don't know enough of the history of that era to know how accurate it was historically as it had been questioned in some reviews. Nevertheless it was very good and gave an insight to his relationship with Josephine, who he had to begrudgingly divorce due to her inability to bear children....and he needed an heir. He never stopped loving her and kept in contact with her.
My friend and I did have to shield our eyes at the beheading and very bloody battle scenes that showed the gory demise of both soldiers and horses!! upload_2023-12-7_19-3-54.png

I certainly won't watch the film but did learn a fair amount about him as over 60 years ago I was a regular visitor to St Helena where he was exiled, and eventually died. How much of the information they used to tell me about Napoleon was actually true is anyone's guess. :noidea:

A lot of the families on the island have 'family' stories about him. :th scifD36:

They didn't go into that part of his life too much that was just where the film ended. It was centred on his active years and on his marriage more.

                    Lurned something new today.

Wales generated an estimated 38.8 TWh of electricity and consumed approximately 16.1 TWh. Wales is, therefore, a net exporter of electricity.

Yet, we pay the highest standing charges. Whats that all about...

                        Same as Scotland.
If you have low population per area, it will always be the same, distribution is more difficult.
I'm sure places like Cumbria feel the same, but it all goes into the grid.;)

One of the North Wales MS's is having a funny turn in the local press about high standing charges. He says that a millionaire in London pays £70 less than Joe Bloggs in North Wales. Sometimes - life is not fair....
