You can remote start a Jag with an app as long as you have a subscription. No need to unlock or anything it just starts the engine and warms it all up

That would be a non-starter for me Andy. I don't have an app as I don't have a modern phone.

My daughter has a Ford Edge and can do the same.

Not something you find necessary then. Modern cars have so much going on now, there are buttons and switches in mine I've never bothered to check out. The car also has cruise control but I couldn't tell you how it works, there's no chance of using it around here.

My car doesn't actually scream at me if I leave the engine running and get out of the car but it flashes up a sign on the dash saying key not detected in car. Even if I get back into the car with the key it continues to flash that unless I turn the engine off and then on again.

I can lock mine with engine running but i start the engine lock the car inside then drop a window and get out then use the window drop/shut on the romote to shut the window, to get window drop/shut press and hold the unlock button or the lock button but this is not on all cars so may not work
I haven't tryed the mannal key yet to lock the car when engine is running, mannal key may be inside your key fob (not inside where battery is but a little cover on the side of fob)

When I said the car screams at me might be a slight exaggeration  but it does make an annoying noise.
I think you can override it but never tried.

I don't go out early anymore so it's not a big problem.
The windscreen clears in a minute or so anyway usually while I scrape the side windows.

With my previous electric car I could warm it up remotely. I had it on a timer as I was still working and my journey times were predictable. I could override it on my app so if I left work early it was still snug inside by the time I walked across the car park. The only way to get in and start the car was with the smartphone, a key was an optional extra I didn't have.

I used that feature a lot in conjunction with warming the batteries to improve range.

Wales' First Minister Mark Drakeford has announced he's quitting after five years in the job. But he denied the backlash over new 20mph speed limits across the country had anything to do with it.

Just a small moan. Chrome have just 'updated' my background colours to make them 'better' for me. Don't make decisions for me :nonofinger: but let me decide what I want :old:. I don't mind the change but would prefer to be asked. :wallbanging:

Thanks for the info but I don't really want to change anything and the minor change they made doesn't bother me. Also I wouldn't know what I want to put it back to as I have already forgotten! :rolleyespink:
