@redstar you would have to sail or fly to get to the Orkney Islands. They aren't joined to the mainland.

Does anyone remember the music slowing down then speeding up on radio Caroline when the weather was rough. Think it sank eventually :)

I used to listen to the radio a lot when driving especially test match special on long wave at home on a real radio. These days we just ask Alexa.

I listen, a lot, to LBC both at home and in the car and don't bother to switch frequency except to listen to local news if driving. I haven't listened to any music radio since the early days of Caroline although prior to that we always listen to Luxemburg.

Radio Caroline is currently moored in the River Blackwater. Website traces history from pirate to current legal status. Also includes schedules offers of boat trips. Transmitter is now land based at Orford Ness.

That sums up my listen list too. Sometimes have Magic on in the car but because they have a short playlist on a long journey the songs repeat.

@redstar Sheal was correct? You have to fly or sail to Orkney, unless you are a good swimmer and can swim the ten miles to the island. :)
