So they charge you for the bags. I'm too stingy for that! Bah Humbug! :old:

10p a bag but refunded when you return them for recycling at the next delivery.

No Iceland don't take the bags back. I do use most of them around the house and garden.

With Tesco delivery you can choose to have items in carrier bags (within the crates) and pay for it. The default is bagless.

Fresh meat and some perishables come in thing bags we cherish as they are used in the small bins and for various other purposes around the house :) (They are just too small for the pedal bathroom bin but stretch nicely if stretching is done very carefully. Great family amusement, beats a day out any time! )

I ask my delivery folks to lift the crates on my doormat inside the door and carry them into the kitchen myself for unpacking.

Some time ago when I did my elbow in I asked them to carry the crates all the way to the kitchen and place them on the worktop, and they asked if I'd like them to unpack too. :)

Probably wanted to unpack them for you because they didn't want to hang around.;)
Grocery delivery must be one of the most soul destroying jobs I can think of, parking in some places must be a nightmare along with customers that hold them up when they have a schedule to keep to.

Well, actually our Tesco folks never seem to be in a hurry and always have a little chat. Or a long one, like the one who enquired about my Rose variety (Iceberg), pond pump (Chinese solar power wonder) and then lingered on to compare notes on nearby NT Gardens we have visited (Belsay Hall came tops). :)

Or perhaps it's geographical, in North East it is impossible to limit human interaction to two sentences

I believe that after Covid taught more people to shop online, delivery people can just name their price and they'll get a job. We get most of our things delivered and usually the drivers are not in a terrible hurry, with the exception of Yodel drivers who look miserable and just chuck the things wherever whatever. :frown:

Same with our Tesco delivery people, we have got to know them since the first lockdown and having deliveries ever since. Usually get the same ones, some have left Tesco and gone back to their old jobs, some new ones, all helpful and chatty.

I find drivers vary, and usually they are more relaxed during the summer months.
They get stressed, I'm sure in certain areas and if they have a lot to get into one time slot.

I'm yet to see an English person doing the job around here, they wont do it, probably the money is rubbish.
I've never seen the same one twice in over two years, and they seem to come from a depot miles away.

We stopped having deliveries when covid eased up. I pick better quality and value food than their pickers do. :noidea:

We used to have a delivery once a fortnight and all but one of the drivers were English. All very nice people (had about six different drivers) and a lot of them bought their plants from us.

We have mostly the same drivers coming for DPD and Evri, they are pretty good and know which neighbours to leave parcels with if no one is home. Amazon has become variable they must have staffing problems in the run up to Christmas as they keep leaving our parcels at the wrong address.

I'm getting away from deliveries myself now, if I buy fish or meat I usually go and get it rather than letting them palm me off with all the rubbish, I also go once a fortnight to Waitrose as I prefer some of their stuff.
I'm paid up for deliveries until April so I'll continue getting them to send me the heavy stuff.

We only had deliveries during to pandemic, and although I absolutely detest all forms of shopping I have to admit to preferring to see and choose our own food.

Just got an email mail from some geezer called John Bramley 4 at ntlworld telling me my TV licence hasn't automatically renewed and I need to set up a new direct debit. :roflol:
He even sent me a link so that I don't have to mess around finding the correct site in order to do that. :nonofinger:

Sitting here listening to all the dirt bikes racing around the two recreation grounds that are within hearing distance.
Why do parents buy their kids these things when they dont have anywhere legal to ride them?
If the police want anything to do, which I doubt, they should be out there confiscating them.
