What's your weather like January 2024

7 degrees and mostly cloudy says the local weather station, which matches my opinion too for a change, forecast is dry for the day.

 

Light cloud with a bit of sun and light winds from the south. Temp 7c feels like 7c.

 

15,6c 99% humidity and we just had a burst of the wet stuff but it has stopped now.

 

Its raining again here and feeling colder, I'm hoping with the drier weather we a promised in the next few days it doesn't turn too cold, to give some idea of how mild its been the bananas have started growing again after being frosted a month or so ago and fuchsias that dropped their leaves have made new shoots.

Since I last posted the sun has been out.

 

Clear skies & a lovely view of Venus from our bedroom windows! Wind has been much lighter today. No rain - so far today but rain is forecast for later this evening from 6pm till 6am tomorrow! It has been more sunny than cloudy today but tomorrow it will be mainly cloudy. Temps today & during the night, as well as most of tomorrow, no more than 8C.

 

Just arrived home, quite a trip too as the buses are either cancelled or re - routed as many roads here are flooded and closed. We had to negotiate our lane in pitch darkness and it was completely flooded and we ended up having to wade through it all ...I don't think I have ever been so soaked through in my life !!! The water was rushing down our lane and in places as it tumbled over the side ditches is sounded like a fast flowing waterfall. We have lived here for almost 42 years and have never witnessed it being this bad!!
Despite our forecast showing the rain has now move off up northwards it's still tipping it down at the moment.
Being so dark we haven't been able to inspect our garden.

 

Still chucking it down here, its relentless.

 

The sun is beaming and we are now up to 27f -3c? Whatever it is in C, it is lovely!

A couple of days ago this was forecasted to go into Northern France and just brush the south coast, someone got it wrong.

 

I know pete, couldn't be more wrong could it !! The next batch is just hitting us now. Sounds horrendous out there.
Looking forward to tomorrow though as it's looking good......and dry!!
