Why do company's answear the phone only to slam it back down with out a word being spoke do they want customers? no wonder trade is down

 

Who is that little bloke at the sugar factory who makes sure there is always a small amount of sugar in the folds at the top of the bag, so that when you open it you always drop a few grains of sticky sugar on the floor.

 

This 20mph business. The police have just said (I've added the capitals):

Following what police have described as a "bedding in period," officers in Wales will be REVIEWING the compliance data this month.

A police spokesman continued: "This will provide an understanding of how the new speed limits are being adhered to and whether lack of compliance is increasing road safety risk."

Policing will look at collision data, and other risk factors, before CONSIDERING an approach for enforcement of the 20mph in future.

Enforcement sites will ONLY be approved where the data, including speed compliance data, shows that there will be a road safety benefit from enforcing.

It sound an awful lot like the police don't think that a blanket 20mph limit is a good idea and that they will only enforce around high risk areas such as schools, hospitals, shops etc. The places where drivers naturally slow down any way.

I do think that Welsh Labour are 'worried' about the impact on voters - many of the replacements for the First Minister of Wales - are saying that they will 'review' the 20mph blanket.

We shall see....

 

This one really gets my goat.

Here's an idea Jeremy - how about selecting your cabinet ministers based upon their ability to do the job?

I've always found that in a couple of dry days in March you can make a big difference, not something to worry about in my opinion.

 

This Junior doctors thing needs sorting fast.
Does ACAS not exist anymore, someone needs to be bashing heads together over this.

 

35% is just stupid, if they got that far behind its the unions fault for not sorting it out sooner.
I think its mostly a political move.
Have some sympathy with the doctors, but mostly because they have such a rubbish union that got them there in the last 15 yrs or so.

 

Perhaps they're aiming high hoping for a settlement with a lower figure that they will accept.

 

Out shopping today and on my list an angled 3/4 inch pure bristle paint brush. No chance! Pure bristle brushes of any size are minimal and I refuse to buy those with synthetic bristles, they're hopeless. I bought my first one 15 years ago but now past it's best it needs replacing. I found one on Ebay for £6 and although a metric measurement it's as close to 3/4 as I can get.

That leads me to a second moan. Why is the new brush listed in centimetres when large goods, work tops, appliances etc. are measured in millimetres? It doesn't make sense to me.

 

I've measured in metric since I started work 53 yrs ago and nobody in the timber business has, to my knowledge, ever used cm, mm and metres only.
Only the BBC and Blue Peter use cm.

I have a really nice fine synthetic bristle paint brush I bought in B&Q a good few years ago, admittedly there are some cheap nylon types out there that are mostly disposables.

 

Well that's how negotiations are supposed to work, but they haven't moved since day one as fa r as I know.
