There are beetles in my bag of mung beans. Thank goodness they have not been opened. I’m worried where they have been packed as they are from China. IMG_0261.jpeg IMG_0261.jpeg

Agree with Pete, some sort of bean weevil....I could say it's what makes bean sprouts extra crunchy....but I won't!:)

Looks like grain weevil like soretooth (not sure on speeling)if it is don't bing into your house, they will look for anything grain to eat and breed, look at the mung beans to see if they is any holes as you may have eggs inside the beans, more bugs later, they are hard to kill and will survise cold weather they can play dead as well even survise with no air etc, if me bin as far away from house or return to sender as grain should be sold with out infestation
            Grain Weevil

If they now in your house kill any you see asp, keep a look at your buiscuits, flour, peas you have in your cupbroads etc bin far away from your house as pos, or return to sender as grain should be sold with out infestation, i've see they still in the bag, don't open the bag as said return or bin you don't want them in the house because if you get a infestation in house then you have a problem

Also was these bagged in the uk or came from china, the store where it is keeped has an infestation, if the store as all ready been treated with chemicles to get rid of bugs then the one's in the bag are from eggs which will not be killed if the store was treated, some of the chemicles/gasses to treat will be strong

Yes can see them, although I am mystified where my post went, it just disappeared

Have you had them long? Definitely complain to the shop or wherever you bought them from.

But is this not just a 'taster' to get the population ready to eat insect protein not meat in line with the Tesco/WWF basket whereby 25% reduction in livestock production in UK is 'agreed', to be 50% as a target by 2050. No wonder British farmers are angry at the endorsement by 'their' own 'union' , although its really a supermarket dominated body.
And its difficult to get farmyard manure already!

Surely insects are "livestock". "Farming Today" was on Black Soldier fly larvae being used as a replacement for soya in animal food and the frass being used as a plant fertiliser. They are looking to change the regulations so that the flies can be fed catering waste. Catering waste is not allowed for animal feed.

Some of the loads of grain that i've hauled have been heavly infestesed with bugs from farms, these loads get treated and once bugs are dead the load then goes for animal feed so animals have been eats insects for a good few years, even the loads which go for milling (bread/biuscit) with bugs get rejected and go some where and be treated then goes back to the mill, but you are not eating the insects/bugs as the wheat will be cleaned over a gavity separater which removes the rubbish/dust
