Good morning. I bought a load of bulbs in the autumn. Some tulips daffodils and aliens. They are still in the box in my boot room. Is it too late to plant them? I’ve got loads and it’s gonna take some time, but if that boat has sailed, I will put it down to an expensive mistake and try harder next year!

You have nothing to lose and and I think you will get some flowers, particularly from the tulips. Do you mean alliums? They should be OK too.

I think it's worth a try as long as they are not badly shrivelled.

If they haven't shrivelled up you might as well plant them and see what happens, they'll probably flower even if it's a bit later than they should. But if you throw them away you'll never know.

We sell bulbs loose and what ever is left over we plant in plant pots that are then sold from early Feb when in the green. So you could either plant outside in the garden or in pots and containers or a combination of both, nothing to lose.
