Wind is really picking up now, forecast shows it reaches its peak around midnight or just after with gusts in excess of 60mph.
Maximum temperature of 10c today, but its felt colder, I thought earlier that it had rained overnight but it appears all the dampness this morning has been the frost coming out of the ground and condensation.
    The rain gauge was empty.

Dartford bridge is closed so maybe they are keeping the riff raff out - but I don't know from which direction :heehee:

Battery powered lamps at the ready. :blue thumb:

11 degrees a bit wild wet and windy and the forecast is for stronger winds and more rain.

The wind has calmed slightly now, it's been terrifically noisy out there tonight !!

Crazy out there now.. just spend the last hour clearing up the remnants of a keter shed and its many contents.
Fingers crossed for the greenhouses across the country tonight.

Sounds pretty noisy out there but 1am tomorrow the wind will get at its strongest...
A road nearby, A2100 has many young spindly trees that are leaning precariously and I reckon some more will come down on the road overnight bringing cables down.
Got a torch by my bed and a hurricane lamp downstairs,

Looking on the forecast its not going to start dropping here until around 2.00am and then only slowly.
Its the worst we have had up till now this winter.
I wouldn't be surprised to find that the gusts are stronger than the forecast says.

The wind's indeed up, and I'm going to have to go out and prop some loose fence panels I've got leabing up against the shed for future use. If I don't, they'll be over the hills and a long way off. Should have remembered befor doing the bottling, ugh.

Well, Storm Isha passed through during the night bringing us very strong winds & heavy rain.

It was "cleaning" our bedroom window so when the sun gets up in a couple of hours they will be "sparkling clean" :D. I hope the same can be said of the kitchen windows as well as the balcony floor! It was badly covered in pigeon dropping which I had mostly swept away before I could take the plants off the balcony railings & put them on the floor.

The skies appear to be clear this morning and we are forecast a day with lots of sun but it will still be very windy even after the better part of Storm Isha has finished passing through. Temps are expected to reach about 9C max. No further rain is expected during the day but there may be some showers again overnight.

                              Hi,

Listening to the wind and rain blasting our bungalow last night as I lay in bed I wondered if our remaining three big trees would still be upright this morning. I was at Morrison's before 7 o'clock this morning; it was interesting driving my car as if it was a dodgem; branches and lots of debris in the road; I stopped at one point to let what looked like a large ball of tumbleweed cross the front of the car.

Fighting my way across the car park I wished I'd nailed my cap on before setting off; it wasn't fun trying to keep my cap on whilst the trolley wanted to blow away.

I'm surprised our government aren't picking up on the benefits of wind; they've not yet suggested a wind turbine on the top of cars. Months ago our immediate neighbour had lots of solar panels installed; in Yorkshire?

                              Kind regards, Colin.
