Yesterday evening it was gusty winds with heavy rain at times but i was lucky i just missed them taking the boys around the back to have a wee.
Now it's patchy cloud with a bit of blue sky, moderate breeze from the west south west temp 7c feels like 4c.

Same as most folk, not too bad wind down south although I haven't been outside yet to check. Just the chairs blown over on the patio I can see. Could hear them in the night.

Calm now, 8c and signs of a decent bit of sun.

Apart from an empty watering can that had relocated, all is OK
here. Went pitch black for a while around 1.20am but power restored during the night.
A pale blue sky forming now and a lot milder ,

It is much warmer today. 20f -6 The guessers say clouds will be barracading any rays of sunshine that try to beam down.

Dry and sunny predicted for the day 6 degrees and the wind is picking up again, 44 mph forecast for this afternoon, so not as bad as last night.

Yesterday's winds have ripped out a couple of panels from the only little bit of fencing we have by the greenhouse.

Well that was one scary night with the noise of the wind.
My house is nearly 200 years old and I'm hoping my roof tiles
                        are still in place.

                            Hi,

Just returned home to find a planter blown over and a tree branch down. Whilst we still have trees we'll have wind damage. 17 huge trees felled and disposed of but the wind hasn't the decency to leave our remaining three trees alone. :wallbanging::wallbanging::wallbanging:

                            Kind regards, Colin.

We were lucky to get away without any damage being done. I haven't seen trees knocked over by the very strong winds from storm Isha over night, even though I had to go out very early, before 8am, to take my gson to school. I did, however, notice that we must have had a lot of rain even though I didn't see any big puddles. That was the impression I got & all the green open spaces were almost marsh-like! We only crossed one but it felt like we were walking through a marsh!

This evening I got a yellow warning for strong winds again from the Met Office. This time from midday on Wednesday till midday on Thursday! This latest storm has been named Jocelyn by the Met Office. It will be the 10th named storm since September I think. Two more & we will set a new record for the number of named storms in a year! The record stands at 11 for the moment. (I don't remember which year!)

We had very strong winds & heavy rain when we went to bed, the rain was battering the bedroom windows. They don't look much cleaner for as much as it washed them! :heehee: During the day we have had mostly sunny periods with a little high cloud but the wind was still strong, though nowhere near as during the night. It seemed to drop somewhat in the middle of the day but now I can hear it gusting again as I write. Temps were around 10C & tonight they are expected to fall to around 4 or 5C min. So no frost! It seems we are at the start of another windy & wet period over the next week or so.

They were debating if all these named storms are due to climate change earlier on the TV.

The poison dwarf, Beresford,, pointed out that we have never had this many named storms this early before, since the met office started naming storms.
He then added, they started naming storms in 2015.
