First proper gardening after winter and a handful of storms. Oh how nice things smell! :)

Pruned the roses and thanks to this forum I sort of knew what I was doing. Cut back Lavender to display my lovely tiny rockery Tulips that finally are starting to look promising after three years of a tentative leave here and there, and a fleeting flower.

Cleared the ponds, ripped out spent Bacopas left in in an optimistic moment to see if they would survive a mild winter (they didn't), gathered handfuls of leaves here and there swearing I shall find the Oak that sends plentiful leaves my way (the nearest I know of is over a mile away) and nipped and tucked away happily in the promise of spring. :)

I'm growing Cleome this year too. I must have bought them for some reason but can't recall why or what conditions they like  Fun buying seeds whilst watching TV lol

Good luck @Loofah .:dbgrtmb:..my only advice is to stick the pkt in the fridge until your ready to sow them. Tempermental little blighters.

Stratification? They were in the shed until recently when they were left in the kitchen. Might pop them in the fridge if I can find them in the pile...

I used to buy chilli seeds but they wouldn't germinate so i bought some from the supermarket and dried the seeds kept them until the next year and they all germinated.

Went to town pruning the redcurrants and some of the apple trees. I also need to do the blueberries too. Planted a blackcurrant and when I pruned it back I was able to get eight or so cuttings, hopefully they root. It's "Big Ben”, looking forward to it....in a few years. Moved a lot of herb cuttings I took in September to the greenhouse in the allotment, hoping to make a herb border along one fence. I put in oregano and marjoram there last year and they took off, so I've got a few thymes and Rosemary to try this year there too

Yesterday I put the Cyclamen in pots back on the balcony railings after cleaning, once more, the balcony floor of the pigeon droppings! Not been outside today.

I cleared the weeds from the pots on the raised Patios out front and cut the plants/shrubs back in them.

I found lots of seed pods on the Delospermum cooperii and also on the Jatropha integerrima, but all green.

The forecast was for a nice day but I only managed to tidy the pots in two cold frames before it clouded over, became cold and started to rain.
I took some pots of Crocuses out of one cold frame, to bring up by the house, but I forgot to bring them and they're still on a table down the bottom. And that's where they can stay for now, I'm not going down there again today ... aching knees ...

Tomorrow may be your last chance of getting them in as it seems this warm spell is coming to an end & we will be going back to unsettled & cooler conditions for the rest of the week. Anyway I hope your knees improve during the day!
