Might be agood idea to get your seed tatties sooner rather than later. Grow a few extra too cos prices are gonna be higher this year at harvest time.

Also shop bought Aldi Saxon and Lidl Kingsman all in containers

 

Any excuse for putting prices up, too lazy to get them out the ground early enough and into storage.
The price hikes and excuses are all getting boring now.

 

Who is growing what this season? I'm growing Arran Pilot.

 

I've ordered Sarpo Mira seed potatoes.
Will get some Marfona in March.

 

Hi,
My mate is going to plant Sarpo Mira in a polytunnel.
When will be a good time to plant them ?

He also wants to plant Centurion Onion sets in polytunnel too, but is not sure when to plant them.

any advice much appreciated.

I've got Swift, Home Guard, and King Edward, just a few of each. I don't need many. I'll be putting them to chitt over the week end and I'll be growing them in tubs.

 

I normally just sow outside end of march for new potatoes, how much earlier could be tried in a pot in the greenhouse? Will probably only get a meal or two out of them but I do have excess seed potatoes

 

Going to my first potato day next sunday. 20p a spud choice of 100 looking for some Java to try out.

 

Would like to grow PFA but being a main crop it has succumbed to blight here in the past. I now grow large quantities of Anya being a 2nd early and never had a blight issue with them maturing before the real danger of blight. They also keep pretty well. Just finished the last of them 3 days ago. Ok they have somewhat lost the lovely new tatty taste but still fine. I grow Sarpo Mira as a main crop along with Setanta. The Setanta grow enormous. Both are blight resistant and again not had a bother with them even last season when it never seemed to stop raining after June.​
