Electric cars.

I was reading an article today about someone tracking private jets of the rich, the likes of Taylor Swift, Elon Musk etc etc. Apparently in 2023, Taylor Swift produced as much C02 flying in her private jet as what 1800 average Americans would produce in the same period. Apparently since the pandemic, there has been a boom in flights by private jets and ghost flights, yet there is no plan to ban them.

 

You could park it on your helipad then.

 

As of the end of 2022, China had 315 million registered cars, only 10 million more than the USA.
There is supposed to be 908 cars per 1000 people in the states compared to 221 cars per 1000 people in China.
Its a good job the States doesn't have the same population as China, they would be top in carbon emissions based on like for like.

According to the news she was more important than a particular football match in the US the other day. She certainly got more air time than the football did over here.

Just been reading about the rich Lithium and other precious metals mined in Oz that make up the car batteries.
Seems world demand for electric cars/ batteries is now so low the market price for these metals has dropped so much that many companies in Oz are suspending operations as its just not profitable to mine them. China being the main importer of these Oz metals.

 

Near where my son lives (America) Honda are building a huge factory to produce batteries for electric cars. Initial employment of staff is approximately 2500.

 

The US and unfortunately my country as well, are heavily subsidizing these factories. Total folly. But that's government's trying to link to green votes.
