What's your weather like FEBRUARY 2024

8c was dry at 6am but then it went dark with a funny looking sky and now it's tipping it down

 

Bit of drizzle in the air, breezy 9c.

 

Sun breaking through bright cloud, 11c, forecast for light showers and breezy, 20c.

 

Heavy rain and light winds from the west south west temp 9c feels like 7c. going down to 2c tonight.
The rain seems to be getting heavier.

 

I thought we might have a frost overnight, but not quite, now 5 degrees and overcast, possibility of light rain later forecast.

Bi-eck it's rainning where do it all come from

 

It is quite warm here now, 40f 4c . It is mostly cloudy however here are there are some hints of blue. A thoroughly lovely day for February!

 

There can't be much left up there surely ?

 

Well its still raining but I think it might stop in the next hour or so, its not been especially heavy just very persistent.

We were given a wind and rain warning, but the wind never really happened apart from a few gusts, its getting colder now as the back porch has just steamed up.

 

The rain forecast for 7am finally appeared around 10am. It began quite heavily but eased off a little after about half an hour but it has continued raining almost all day. It did stop for perhaps an hour then started up again. It's also been a cooler day than for some time with only about 8C max. When the rain stops the temps will fall to about 3C min. When the 2nd bout of rain started the wind also picked up quite a bit.

So much rain...unbelievable!! We've been out all day from 9am to 4:45 pm and have been here, there and everywhere as I hadn't realised the forecast was going to be so horrendous!! We have spent the whole day absolutely soaked to the skin and ,due to the wind chill , freezing cold too.

A lot of flooded roads here and many have had to be closed as they are completely impassable. Those open are pretty waterlogged and traffic seem to get an evil pleasure from driving along them without reducing their speed and causing tidal waves with accompanying spray that drenches those of us walking along on the pavements.

We're back to having two ,fairly fast flowing, streams running either side of our lane , these come together just past our property to flow into what now appears to have become a permanent river flowing through the Woods.

Now we're home the rain has finally stopped and.....the sun has come out!! Low of 1C tonight.
