......and todays weather is for more heavy rain and winds...and we're off out for the day! :heehee:

Oh well never mind, summer's slowly creeping nearer.

Actually I think this Winter has passed by really quickly probably helped by our mild temperatures this year.

I'm optimistically hoping that our Spring and Summer gardens are going to flourish this year due to our saturated soil too. :fingers crossed::fingers crossed:

We can but live in hope.

Vicky please tell me that J hasn't had a remarkably sudden recovery and is off out for lunch and a beer today :frown:

Take care and have a fab day whatever your weather deals you with.

Morning all. Sun is up and smiling. It looks relatively calm but we might have a gusty breeze later.

Of course J is meeting the guys at Rooster's today although they are unhappy with the service and J brought home a cooked chicken breast which was dark pink in places to my horror! I am always welcome on these men forays, but no thank you as I don't like their chosen venues nor conversation. Margaret has gone a few times.

He may also go back to the AlgarveShopping to collect a monitor he ordered which came in after we went past it yesterday. If he does I have asked him to go back into Continente (next door) and pick me up some pots I saw but with the who ha yesterday I chose not to get as he would have had to get a trolly ... he can carry them today.

I will go out front this morning and get some VitD.

      The Squeak has arrived.

        Good day
It is up to 22f -5c and brilliantly sunny.

It has seemed like a short winter, so far, to me too @Upsydaisy and I think that it is because it has been so mild compared to most. I've been looking at the long-range forecast hoping that the nighttime lows might rise at a faster pace and allow me to use the greenhouse sooner but no, there is no anticipation of warmer nights.

@Victoria it is amazing to witness the healing powers of an anticipated beer with the boys. :heehee: I hope he does pick up the pots. :fingers crossed:

I've arrived here late again as I gave Emily a lift to school since I was going out anyway to grab some flour on offer. It was $4 per 5 kilo bag which is fantastic. There was a limit of 4 so I went in twice. :dbgrtmb:

I've got some soil block making and seed sowing to do today but I shall wait for the afternoon when the sun has come around and is shining into the kitchen. It always feels pleasant to be working in there with the rays beaming in.

        Cheers :coffee:

He said to me "I wonder if I should have a beer". I said "No, have cider instead as it has less purines". He likes dry cider!

Yes, got me two 27cm at 6,99 Euros each and a couple more 12cm at 89c each. I will transfer a couple of Hibiscus tomorrow.

          Happy seed sowing.

Morning all. New month. Happy March.

@Upsydaisy, about gloves, just was thinking, even in the coldest days when I hop in my car I rarely put them on for warmth. And to locate them is interesting. I do wear garden gloves of course. We also carry hand sanitizer. One time I was in the grocery store and saw a lady lick her fingers to try to get those plastic bags open for the fruit she was picking. SMH I would also say Covid did not cause me to change any of my habits either, expect for having a small bottle of hand sanitizer in my purse.

Baked some banana bread this morning, used a ripe pear instead of the third banana that it called for, just pulled out looks good. Have to have a piece soon. Hope skinny husband eats it all.
Plan today to tear apart and clean the living room. Fun life I have. Too wet for further raking.
              Have a good day all.

Morning all. Where is Upsy? Haven't heard from here since yesterday morning!

The sun has broken through light cloud but we are forecast showers today. That means I won't be able to do my re-potting as I am a fine weather gardener! J's cold/throat is worse today and can't speak ... not that he does in the morning. Give me strength.

                Have a happy weekend!

                    Saturday. Raining all day.

Sorry to hear about @Upsydaisy .

Just doing inside stuff today, whatever draws my attention.

Oh dear! That is bad news about @Upsydaisy . I hope she feels better very soon.

I'm late again and only here for a moment. @Upsydaisy when you are better and are catching up, I hope you haven't tried making that washable duster. This is after only one wash. It was a bum steer! 20240302_120136.jpg

I have a scratchy throat this morning and did not have the best night because of it coughing ... thank you J!!!He is no better this morning, still snotty!

I did get out yesterday morning and got various Hibiscus re-potted and trimmed and had J come out to help but made him wear a neck cowl and the sun stayed with it. Got overcast and drizzly later. It is sunny but don't know if I will bother to go out today ... maybe I will wear the neck collar today.

                            Good day
It is very mild 39f 3c and foggy which of course means lots of clouds right from the ground up to heaven!

Sounds like lots are poorly around here. I'm beginning to wonder if the old sayings had it right about bad weather affecting your health. After all, if your body is fighting to keep warm in chilly weather, then maybe that energy is lost to other defenses?

I had a busy but good day yesterday. I got my bread making done in between doing mounds of laundry. I had left the laundry until then instead of doing a load or two throughout the week. I mustn't leave it again! I also made chocolate chip cookies. The chewy ones. They are from an old recipe that I cut out of a newspaper some 40 years ago.

Today I am Hilda and will be watching/listening to my show while I do some cooking for meals during the week. One of the things I'm going to make is spaghetti and meatballs. I put it is 2 cup containers which are great to heat'n'eat during the week. I've already got a batch of stew done up in containers too.

I go to the pub for my hour today and I can take along a print out of an advertisement from a garden center which is holding a workshop for children to learn about planting seeds. It is hands on and the bartender had told her me young son is keen to try gardening. This might just be perfect for her. And keep the mess at the garden centre too!

                            Cheers :coffee:

Sunday, 60 degrees here. almost Noon.
Just got caught up with some stuff. Have to go food shopping a little. Hope for a couple hours in the garden. I am lined up this week for a DexScan, and a Mammogram, and next week or so a NPO bloodwork. I swear I told her my last Mammogram was my last one, there is no history of CA in my family at all. I am going to have to not do it next time, enough is enough.
                              Hope everyone feels better.

Had a light shower in the early hours. Lightly overcast now but 11c going to 18c.

J has Dentist at 5pm to see about his lower denture which is bothering him. Both of us still have irritating throats.

I shall continue working on the border of an afghan. That's about it from here.
