    I have been given a Macallister MLMP675SP51-3 Lawnmower. I have been able to obtain a Honda engine manual but cannot find an Owner's Instruction Manual for the working of the mower. Does anyone have any ideas as where to purchase or download one ? I have tried Macallister, various online retailers, online manual downloads, core service Ltd and B&Q but all to no avail.
    Many Thanks
    Brian Lacey.

    It has a Briggs and Stratton engine, you should at least be able to get a manual for that from their website. The other bits will be quite generic

    Thanks flounder but the machine I was given has the Honda GCV135E engine and I have found a manual for this.
    The manual for a Macallister MLMP675SP51-3 just doesn't seem to exist.

    Ah, ok...didn't really read that properly. So what else do you need to know about it?

    In an ideal world I would read the instructions before trying to start and use the mower but I haven't got them, just the engine bit. I expect I can work it out, can't be that difficult but just nice to have instructions.

    The average person only reads instructions after all else has failed.
    Well I do anyway.:biggrin:

      There is little to know, its a simple B&Q own brand model, now superceded. Doubt it ever had a manual; likely a simple instruction sheet!
      As it is 'pre-owned', check that it has sufficient oil. Suggest that you drain any fuel and start with fresh unleaded petrol. Service air cleaner. Remove and clean/replace spark plug.Refer to Honda manual.
      Position throttle to Start .
      Hold in the 'deadman' wire handle, pull recoil handle, it will then hopefully start, remember to operate the 2nd grip handle to engage self propulsion*, regulating throttle to gradually increase speed. Honda engines are generally reliable ,and widely serviceable if required
      Best to raise to highest cutting position for first cut, reducing height gradually through the season, depending on type of amenity.
      * adjustable on cable

        Many thanks Infradig, very helpful information. Already have the air-filter and spark plug, just waiting to get started and see if it goes ! I had been in contact with B&Q and still on going but doubt they will bother to help.
