I found this on the ground in the garden, at first I thought it was a glass bead, but its soft and slippery, with a strange blue tinge.
    Possibly dropped by aliens?

Yes I know the other thing is a pound coin. DSC05015.JPG

That's not one of those bath beads is it? If you put it in warm water, you might find that is what it is?

Bath beads, not heard of them.
              Do they just dissolve.

Yes, they have a very thick shell made of, I believe, gelatin or something that dissolves. If you found it in a wet area, it should have dissolved? This is a picture of the bath beads which might different scents. I don't use them as I prefer a stand up shower. In, scrub, rinse and get out!

Ahh, I wonder if the kids had thrown it over.
I'll see if it dissolves. Tomorrow.

If you come back tomorrow smelling like lavender or whatever, we'll know how you dissolved it! :heehee:

Zooming in, it has something to hold it and possibly to attach it.

I think it's an eye from a soft toy.

Nowadays they are no longer hard glass or "glass" beads, but usually made of softer plastic.

Call FBI @pete ! Goodness knows what may be hidden behind your neighbours' basement doors! :yikes:

Or, it could be Mr Blackbird leaving a token gift after enjoying the decorative moss from your pond edge. I sometimes find kind offerings of half eaten bread crusts, cigarette buts or assorted objects on my outside step doormat. In exchange, I keep replacing the moss. We live in symbiotic relationship.

Its kind of soft but I dont want to squeeze it too hard as I think it might explode or something and squirt me with some strange liquid.

I've found some more of these today, I'm going to dry them out as they seem to shrink as they dry, just wondering what they look like in their dry state.

Could they be water retaining gel that you put in containers?
                              Although they are usually white.
