An easy read murder series may be available at your library (I get 6 books a week from our library). They're now being published under the author's real name of Edward Marston and were originally published about 20 years ago under the name of Conrad Allen. They're a series of murders that all occur on Ocean Liners such as 'Murder on the Lusitania'.

He has written many series of historical murder/mystery books. The Ocean liner series are set in the early 1900's. Other series are:- 'The Railway Detective', 'The Home Front Detective', The Bow Street Rivals', 'The Domesday' books, 'The Restoration' series, 'The Bracewell Mysteries'.

Thanks for that Michael. J knows of it and will look for the film.

Yes, simple black or wood or even frameless (behind glass).

The film is a bit different to the book - well some details anyway. I suppose a story has to be adapted to suit being shown on a screen. I haven't read the book but I enjoyed the film.
Late partner Beryl enjoyed it too, and we watched it many many many times together ... she used to say "Oh, let's see 'Fried Green Tomatoes" and I would think ok, we'll watch it AGAIN :heehee:

Reginald Molehusband is still around - check out this nifty piece of parking - in a local retail park.

If you ever get to watch the film 'Fried Green Tomatoes', the one I said about above, there's a good scene of 'nifty' parking on that.
Cathy Bates acts the character Evelyn Couch, who at the beginning of the film is rather timid but she 'wakes up' and when two dizzy dolly birds take a parking place she's been waiting for ...

Watched it yesterday Michael. Loved it. Irondale, where the cafe is located, is only about 85 miles south of where I lived in Huntsville, Alabama. The Cafe is called Irondale Cafe now. Lovely story ...

Today, I drove to a nearby village because I needed to buy something from a charity shop that I'd seen the other day. This is very unusual for me because, (a) I detest shopping, and (b) I'm really, really not girly, but there was a gold, crocheted mini dress and it was so 1970, and that's why I need it, lol! Anyway all the bloody charity shops were closed for easter. I didn't even know it was Easter weekend until yesterday. :th scifD36::biggrin:

@Mrs. B. Oh I always know when Easter is. We buy our Easter eggs early and it's a countdown to when I can eat them  Things like Mini Eggs though are an anytime thing. I've eaten more than my fare share of those and today I opened and polished off a Mini Eggs bar. The smaller of the two I should add!
