Hello - migrant from Gardeners World!

Hello everyone!

Yet another ex-gardeners world person here (I've used the same username and avatar pic).

I'm very firmly at the "know-nothing fool" end of the gardening spectrum, so I won't be able to offer much in the way of helpful gardening advice to others, or indeed be able to identify many mystery plants for others. Apologies in advance for that.

My "garden" is about a dozen 10 litre plastic pots where I grow hardy annual flowers (in the corner of a concrete yard), and others of the same size where I grow a few Spring-flowering bulbs.

Well, best wishes to everyone anyway (I hope you don't mind an interloper barging in to your established community).

I was more of a 'lurker' on GW , with occasional questions promptly answered by very helpful people. I shall be asking more questions shortly!

Hello all.
My first test post, so may as well make it my intro.
I am a relative novice (5 years or so now) and garden on slightly acid clay soil in North Staffs. Good ground for roses, which are probably my main garden interest.
As another soon to be GW exile, I hope to be able to find my way around, and look forward to participating with you all here soon.

 

I’m another GW migrant. Never plucked up the courage to post there, but have learned so much from reading the wisdom of others. Fab to see so many familiar names here!

I’m in Cambridge, on clay, in a long narrow suburban garden. Trying to slowly improve the clay and enjoy the ride

Hi all, I’m also from GW.

I have a tiny new build garden in Cambridge, dealing with clay soil and a lot of shade. I have a few roses (in the least shady parts of the garden); the rest are mostly evergreens/ferns/epimediums.

Here’s a photo of my favourite border from sunnier times last year:
