I have a year old christmas cactus that I grew from a broken off leaf i got from a friend. It flowered in Nov/Dec, its now got a new flower bud. Is this just a bonus or is it confused?

20231128_135845.jpg My 15 year old Christmas Cactus flowered in November, then again mid January and another shorter-lived burst at the end of February. It was glorious. It lives on my south facing kitchen windowsill and goes out onto the patio for its summer hols

I put my Christmas Cactus out for the summer a couple of years ago and the slugs had a field day, so I’ve not risked it since. It’s fine now, a bit too big to be honest, especially as we don’t have many wide window sills, and no south-facing windows. Do you ever encounter slug problems?

No @Emerion . It sits in the same pot either on an unused wooden bench or the low stone wall which separates patio from lawn. I pretty much leave the cactus to its own devices once it's outside. Slugs are in the borders and only the occasional one strays on to the patio !
