sea holly wilt

    bought a sea holly plant in a box from a supermarket ( blue stem one) earlier this year in the box was four little roots just showing new shoots i potted them up but this week one of them has wilted googled it but can not find the cause any body on here got any answers please?

    Are you sure that's sea holly.
    If it is it wont really like being indoors.

      said so on box but thought too cold for outside in january grown on bedroom window sill

      Its an out door plant, for the garden, could be why it looks slightly odd. its been forced into early growth and have you over watered it do you think.

      Can't think any other reason why it would go limp like that, but you do need to try and get it outside in a protected area if you can.

      Doesn't look much like a sea holly leaf, they're spikier, more jaggedy..
      I'd certainly move them outside to a sheltered spot.

          To be fair there are Sea Hollies that have non jagged leaves, E.planum for one.

            It's possibly been over watered , you might as well tip it out of the pot and inspect check for root rot or if the compost is wet , eryginums do like free draining soil . With the other three I'd start taking them outside during the day and bring them back inside for a week , after a week leave outside permanently in a sheltered place ( coldframe - against the house /shed etc ) Sorry Nigel repeating what you said , just noticed after reading back through.

              thank you, it looks like im being treated like a idiot on here with my question i bought the plants from tesco there was 4 roots inside one has wilted i threw the box away the other 3 are ok at the minute
