When someone asks a question and the respondent starts their sentence with 'yeh, no...' and then answers it. Why?

 

Or.... he said.....then she said

Or saying 'like' every few words in a sentence.
Or......yer know wot I mean

What bugs me is writing ‘To’ on envelopes. I think the very first thing they teach you at Postie School is that the address shows who the letter is going to, not who it’s coming from.

Likewise, why write ‘To’ at the top of greetings cards? I’m not so sad as to have to send birthday cards to myself.
