It's not a separate forum, it's simply a thread in the New Members section.

I started this thread for displaced GW members to find each other, especially as some may now be using a different username.

The GW forum will soon be closed and we probably won't be able to view any of the posts we made, so at least in this thread we can find each other and ask questions about old GW threads without cluttering up the GC forum, then start new threads over here in the relevant section.

With so many GW members moving over here there's was a risk of there being hundreds of separate posts made in the 'new members' section by members introducing themselves and asking about each other.

I was AnnaB on the old GW forum but it seems that we already have an AnnaB amongst the posters already here. So I am now Anna42 (the year I was born so I can remember it!). Looking forward to spending the evening exploring the forum and finding my way around, meeting a few familiar faces and hopefully making some new friends.

Great to see some of the same names as over in Gardeners World forums. Feeling a home already

 

For reassurance, I am a bit of a novice and have been on GW for a couple of years - I didn't notice what you describe at all, so please don't be overly worried. It's possible that if you read through lots of posts there may be some examples, but I'm pleased to say I never felt unwelcome and on the whole, my experience was that I got good advice and ideas quickly. I tried another forum and after a week I've had no response on it - so I've moved across here because I know that my peers on the GW have come here. The more people and experiences and advice the better, I think. And let's hope if any untoward comments do get made, they get stomped down immediately.
